Try lowering the window with your key. After it is completely lowered try opening it either way, down or swing out. When you get it open, lubricate all moving parts.

How to fix my rear tailgate window

check the fuse/relay. if it is neither of these check the switch with a multimeter. If you can hear the motor trying to move the glass when you try the switch it may be the regulator needs attention. It may be the motor needs to be replaced.

check fuse and relay along with the switch first then the regulator and motor afterwards. Replacing the small electronics is obviously easier than having to open up the tailgate to check the mechanics of the winedow.

2004 GMC Envoy endgate window doesn't work

The regulator is bad possibly . Have to take the panel off the end gate to check it .
Endgate Power Window System Components
The endgate power window system consists of the following components:
• Endgate window switch
• Endgate key cylinder switch
• Endgate window interior emergency switch
• 4th button of the key fob
• Power roof switch
• Endgate window regulator
• Endgate module
• Power roof module
• Endgate regulator 30-amp circuit breaker

If you hear the motor run ,has to be a problem with the regulator .
Removal Procedure
Swing the endgate open.
Remove the regulator bolt access plugs (3).
Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
Remove the endgate inner panel reinforcement. Refer to Endgate Inner Panel Reinforcement Replacement .
Remove the endgate window. Refer to Endgate Window Replacement .
Remove the bolt (3) retaining the regulator to the endgate.
Loosen the nuts (1) retaining the regulator rails to the endgate.
Remove the regulator by sliding the regulator side rails up and out of the keyhole slots (2) in the gate.

You mite find a video on youtube on how to do this job.

Tailgate window lift motor 1986 suburban

I assume your motor is out? These old suburbans will get to where the switch that wont let you roll them down when they are open sometimes is the problem, also the switch, and the switch you use with the key in the tailgate itself, also fuse, The motors also have an overload protecter that is not making contact from corrosion. I have many times been able to beat on the inside door panel while holding the switch and made them start working again, But back to you question, remove interior covering, usually screws and plastic clips, then locate the motor, look and see if you can detach the regulator from the glass. If you can unbolt them. I have had this problem many years ago, but I can't remember exacty how the regulator in in the tailgate, it may be riveted, or it may be bolted. I am assuming you have made sure with test light or vom the motor is getting power, IF it is try applying power to it and tapping it with a wrench or something. It might make it start working. I offer free advice for everyone and will help anyway I can so if this info is helpful in any way, my compensation is my rating.

Rearwindow/ door

if there are no broken wires inside the tailgate try lubing the latches with WD40 and open and close the tailgate several times. If the latches are properly closed on both sides the window will not work

'94 4runner 4dr. Inop. r/rear window & rt. frt. window will go down not up.

There is a saftey built into the tailgate that will interupt the ground to the switch in the center console with the tailgate open. This keeps the operator from trying to roll the window up with the tailgate open. If you have no ground to the rear window switch it is most likely the tailgate safety switch. If it is like my '88 it is built into the drvers side tailgate latch.
