Bummer, something is broken. Check both ends of the cable, and if good, surgery is indicated....

My clutch pedal goes to the floor like spring or cable is broken how can i check this

Most clutches are hydraulic. you should have a clutch master cylinder. check the cylinder if full of brake / clutch fluid. if empty fill it up but if empty will need bleeding.

My 1998 vw jetta clutch is having a problem. there was no signs of clutch slipping. clutch pedal went to floor, now there is no going and no sign of a broken cable.

You might need a new clutch attachment kit... there is a clip that usually goes bad and causes the cable to float.(No tension)

The problem is likely the clutch master cylinder leaking and/or out of fluid. More info, let me know.

You ran low on clutch fluid, look in owners manual, it is usually around the brake master cylinder, and usually takes DOT 3 fluid.
