We have a p reg ford escort ghia & every time we put petrol in the tank the following day its back on empty?? & we don't do much travelling. we thought that it may be some tight wad stealing the petrol but no one has been seen near the car. HELP US PLEASE as we are at our wits end.

When you say "T" reg. is that UK year 1999/2000 or 1989/90?
What other symptoms does it have>>>>>> Overheats, Does not heat up, Excess pressure when the tank cap is released, misfiring.

the only way to find this is to look at all the fuel lines for a wet spot this is where the leak is, donot use any naked flames to illuminate the working area, or all your problem will be over for ever LOL
The easiest way to find fuel filters is to start at the petrol tank and work forwards some put them just infront of the petrol tank others are just befor the engine bay you should be able to follow you fuel lines from either end and it should be about 1.5 feet from motor or just after tank
