SOURCE: air bag light

there is a wire that is attached via your seatbelt latch that runs under the seat.
It will make a "DING" sound when the seatbelt is unlatched and the the door is open.
Find the wire and pull it out then complete the circuit by wrapping the 2 wires together and maybe throw a little tape on em!
Bam !!!
prob solved.

Or you could just pull the fuse for that sensor. haha

SOURCE: Air bag off

Your car has second generation airbags and it monitors weight in the passenger seat. If a child sits in the seat the computer looks at the weight and turns off the airbag so not to deploy in a crash. If you put anything in the seat like a purse or briefcase the computer will think its a baby and turn off the airbag.

SOURCE: I have a 2004 Sebring and the air bag light stays

There is a wound up ribbon conductor inside the hub of the steering called the clockspring, it has likely gone bad. It's a pretty common problem. Phone the dealer or your repair shop and ask them how much to replace the clockspring, this is probably not something you should do yourself.

Changed seat drivers side had wiring plug out and air bag light came on.now stays on even with plug connected

Is the replacement seat a used part??

It may have a defective "proximity sensor" in the seat, which tells the Air Bag system that there is a person sitting in the seat.....OR....you may have accidentally disconnected the seat-belt sensor, which also sends information to the SRS system.

I have a 2002 Toyota Avalon XLS. Someone just cut the rear seat belt 3/4 of the way through. How can this be replaced or repaired"

if it is any other than the center seat in the rear be carefull first disconnect the negative battery terminal because in this car you probably have side curtain air bags they will go off if seat belt is handled improperly and it will be ugly and expensive with the negative cable unpluged it will not go off. there will be two large bolts and one small bolt behind the garnish that will need to be removed disconnect the air bag sensor by pulling out the black locking tab with a small flat screw driver, pull out seat belt and belt carrier assembly, reinstall the new belt and belt assy, small bolt tighten to snug only a alignment bolt two large bolts torque to 45lbs reinstall air bag wire and garnishes reconnect battery and ps to be extra carefull with air bag sensor by grounding your self to the car can be set of by static electricity has broken fingers this way before.

I have a 2002 Honda Accord EX-4. The SRS light came on and stayed on. I've owned the car since new, and it's never been hit.I have three questions 1.) Could it be something with the seatbelt? 2.)If not,...

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat

(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity2_bing.gif problem.

I DO NOT disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s)

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

Air bag warning light. sensor issue drivers side.

hallo
if your foult is driver side airbag and it is not blown out, you should check "clock spring" wires behind steering whell.
if foult is driver side belt tensioner, check conector underneeth driver seat.
on the end erase foult/s with diagnostic equipment.

My 2003 ford expo has a constant airbag light lit after starting the veh. I have a new sensor, can't figure out were 2put it.. Please help.

first, you need to read the Lamp Fault Code, LFC from the flashing light. Here's how:

Lamp Fault Codes
When the restraints control module (RCM) detects a system fault, it will cause the air bag indicator to flash a coded sequence: a lamp fault code (LFC). The code is two digits. The first digit is flashed with a 0.5 second interval between pulses. There is a 2 second pause before the second digit is flashed, which also has a 0.5 second interval between pulses. There is a 5 second pause between each display of an LFC.
Each LFC is flashed five times after which the air bag indictor will remain lit for the remainder of the key-on cycle. If there are multiple LFCs, each LFC will flash in order of priority.
-------------------------------------------------------
The fault could be in the air bag circuits, the canopy circuits, the pretensioner circuit on the seat belts, etc.
Report back with code.

here's some of system.

SECTION 501-20B: Supplemental Restraint System 2003 Expedition/Navigator Workshop Manual
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Air Bag and Safety Belt Pretensioner Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) The air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) is designed to provide increased collision protection for front seat and second row outboard occupants in addition to that provided by the three-point safety belt system. Safety belt use is necessary to obtain the best occupant protection and to receive the full advantage of the SRS.
This vehicle line contains dual stage deployment (advanced restraint system) driver and front passenger air bag modules. These vehicles can also be equipped with optional safety canopies that deploy from the A-pillar to the C-pillar upon a side impact or if a rollover condition is detected. If equipped with safety canopies, a unique restraints control module (RCM) is used.
