there is a small head adj screw on the back of the assembly. the car must be parked on level ground and on top of the headlamp assy there is is window about an inch and a half in dia. if you look in you should see a bubble-type level turn the screw until the bubble lines up and your done.

the release is a solenoid that is powered by applying the brakes. do you have brake lights. that gives you an indication that the signal is being generated and that the solenoid is either bad or miss adjusted. this device is within the shifter console.

How do you adjust the TPS on a 1996 Mazda Protoge?

For most newer cars, replacing the headlight is as simple as removing the broken one and plugging in the new one. -------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 1998 Mazda Protege and when the headlights are on all lights work including the rear tail lights. When I press the break pedal the 2 rear lights go out completely except for the center (window)...

It is very likely that you have a bad break switch. It is usually located on a bracket right behind the brake pedal bar. A new switch is generally $30 to $45, and only takes a couple of minutes to change.

I hope this helps.

No brake lights

Sounds like it is your brake light switch which is located on the brake pedal itself.  Should cost around $20 at autozone and is pretty easy to change out yourself.  Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Can't find the turn signal or emergency flasher fuse for 1998

Conrad, up north.
My protege is a '99. The turn signals and hazard flashers use the same flasher unit. It is located under the dash to the left of the steering wheel and above and a bit to the right right of the driver's side fuse box.
