This is an UGLY job, and very easy to break hard to get parts. Everything is waaaay fragile in there. consider getting a qualified shop to do it.

2002 Ford Ranger Extended Cab Heater Core Replacement

Not an easy job. Drop the steering column and remove the dash first. Then remove the plenum. Core is between the plenum and fire wall. Get a manual. Your saving hundreds doing it your self. 30 dollars for a manual is worth it.

If the core is not leaking, you need to have it back-flushed, not replaced. Your girlfriend is being ripped off.

Heater core leaking how do you replace it

Heater core replacement is a delicate operation, and it is very easy to damage fragile and hard to get parts. I suggest that you have a shop do this job for you.
Essentially the heater box comes apart and the core can come out. Not an easy job.

I have coolant leaking from the heater core inlet tube; how easy is that to fix myself and is there a temporary fix I can try if I have to have a pro do it?

Get ready to pull the dash out to replace the core, it ain't easy and paying someone who has done it before is the only practical fix. The easy fix is to pull both hoses off and put a short piece of pipe between them to remove the core from the system. Note that your defroster and heater will be no good.

Wipers do not work and exhaust is loud and I may need a heater core how do i replace these myself

Wipers is an easy fix. Go buy a set of the correct wiper blades and read the instructions. As to the loud exhaust I suggest you have this repaired by a trusted muffler shop. About as cheap to pay someone as to DIY, and besides you do not have the tools for this job. Replacing a heater core is never easy. replacing the core is simple, but getting to the core is never simple. You just have to remove enough of the dash to be able to access the core located on the passenger side. Take digital photos as you go along as this may help you with reassembly. Go slow, be careful and only remove what is necessary. If you pay someone to do this be prepared for a very expensive repair. Parts are cheap but labor costs are high on this repair.

Bad heater core how do I replacxe it

No one, except someone who has replaced one on this exact same vehicle can tell you. Replacing the heater core is the easy part. Getting to the heater core is the hard part. Basically you just have to remove enough parts to allow access to the core. Take photos as you go along so as not to get confused when you reverse the procedure. This is a very labour intensive repair and for that reason it is a very costly repair. Good luck.

this is real easy -- the heater core is under the passenger side of the dash --- should be able to replace without removing the dash -- might have to remove part of the glove box

Heater Core Replacement for 1986 Buick Electra Park Ave

there is no easy way to change out a heater core...you have to take the bottom part of the dash loose and that takes some doing. once you get the bottom of the dash apart you will see the heater core.then you have to go under the hood and unhook both water lines that run to it, you should then be able to pull the heater core out and install the new one
