Could be a bad pump. Did you change the fuel filter also? They can get so clogged as to not the pressure threw. Another thought is the fuel pressure regulator.

Save your fuel pump!

It is not ever thought of,and with todays fuel is not the best with all the chemicals they use at the refineries >.We change the oil, every 2 to 3000 miles, and that is a good thing, air filters when they are dirty, but what about the fuel filters? This is a filter no one likes to fool with, but I tell you 50 percent of fuel pump failure is the result of clogged fuel filters. They are nasty to fool with, and we just do not think about them to often.A clogged,or restricted fuel filter will cause a fuel pump to strain trying to pump the fuel from the fuel tank up to the engine. This causes more pressure on the pump, the fuel pressure has to go somewhere, and the pump just blows out it`s seals cause there is nowhere for the fuel to go.So my suggestion is every other oil change, install a new fuel filter. With todays fuel, there will be more to clog a fuel filter than there used to be.

Stop pumping fuel

Are you bad about trying to pack your fuel tank, if you are your causing more problems for yourself. Here's why the fuel in your tank is only made to go so far, so when you keep pumping, the fuel level gets over the range it should be, so then the overflow of fuel goes threw the charcoal canister that is used for venting your tank, then it brings this charcoal back to your tank. Then it travels threw your fuel pump, your fuel filter and fuel injectors causing clogs and pump to wear out early. So when you get that first click at the gas pump, STOP Don't put anymore fuel in.

I have geo metro94/3 while driving engine shut down will not start no more

Hello, the usual culprit is the fuel filter being clogged. Sometimes a clogged fuel filter will let the fuel through and other times it will not. This means the car will run some of the times, where other times it will starve your engine of fuel causing it to stop and not start right away. The next possibility is your ignition system. Cracked distributor cap, a short in that area, bad coil wire, or any other obstacle causing your spark to not reach the spark plugs. Easiest and cheapest place to start is to replace your fuel filter and eliminate that as the cause. Your fuel pump could also be the issue but you can usually hear a whirring sound before you start a car which is the fuel pump doing its job. Hope this helps.

Signs of a clogged fuel filter

Usually a clogged fuel filter will prevent the engine from revving over a certain RPM, say 1500 or 2000. A weak fuel pump or pump relay could cause it to stop running and then restart.
But the fuel system would not affect engine compression.

After replacing fuel pump car still stalls occasionally when turning or stopping, also pump seems to run most of the time and is noisy

Did your also replace the fuel filter. Clogged fuel filters are one of the major causes of premature fuel pump failures. If you did replace the filter then look at the fuel pressure regulator.
