Question about Jeep Liberty

Open Question

My 2008 jeep liberty alarm sets off during the mid-day - about six times then stops - approximately every hour. The car does not seem to have battery issues since there is no dimming of the lights when I turn on radio, etc. or when starting the car. I replaced the battery in the electronic key to unlock/lock. Any idea what it could be? I am in AZ, so I am not sure if the heat has anything to do with it because it does not occur during the morning or evening.

SOURCE: 2008 Jeep Liberty-Dead battery issues w/ a new battery

Unit has a draw somewhere that needs to be addressed. I have found the auto starts sometimes can cause this. But if the draw is through the negative side it could be tough. You should take it to the dealer and have them perform a draw test on the entire vehicle.

I have a recall notice for your Jeep. It states that the radio is not powering down correctly and that the radio should be replaced by the dealership.

Next Start the car close windows and roof turn on your AC high beam headlights fo lamps radio and wipers if your car runs little rough replace the battery and have the alternator tested. SOURCE: '01 Grand Cherokee Won't Start

Try starting it while you have any lights on; if they go out, then you could have only a failed battery clamp that needs cleaned. We've had fairly frequent problems losing contact at the battery terminals.
The Haynes manual for '93 - '00 does not show a security system that disables anything.

Sounds like you have a key without the chip in it. Replacement keys without the chip will only unlock the doors and will activate the theft alarm when you start the vehicle.
