SOURCE: front brake pads & rotors on 2003 buick park avenue

When you remove the clipers you have to get very agressive with them to pry them loose. When installing the new pads, you first must compress the hydraulic cylinder that compresses the brakes when you step on the pedal by using a C clamp to squeeze the round-shaped cylinder back as far as it will go. You may experience some overflow from your brake master cylinder (refill container on the top aft of your enginee compartment) because you are removing volume from the system by compressing the cylinder. Replace the pads, then when you rassemble it will easilly fit over the rotors. Otherwise it will not go back together. Also, watch out when reinstalling the pins (the ones that hold the calipers on). They can be cross-threaded easily and you don't want that to happen. You'll know you have them cross-threaded if you have to tighten them too hard. STOP! and back them out and look carefully at the angle of the pins as you thread them in. They should not be too hard to turn. It is also a good idea to lubricate the caliper pins with grease made especially for this purpose (check with your parts store). DO NOT get grease on the surface of the pads or rotors. Brake parts cleaner spray is handy to have to clean eveything after it is assembled together. Tighten all bolts and pins A LOT! They can come out if you don't tighten them pretty well. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2003 Buick park Avenue Driver Seat Adjuster...

As they pointed out, the motors run fine. What we need is a replacment shaft with the attached gear. The plastic gears tend to sheer off the teeth with any load at all. If anyone finds a replacment gear, please post.

I have a 1998 Buick Park Avenue. 94K. Transmission seems fine, but sometimes feels rough (knocks) between gears. Then, if I turn the car off and wait a few seconds, it seems to "reset" and begins...

Could be something sticking.Trans filter should be changed at least every 40,000-50,000 miles. If it has never been changed or has over 50,000 since the last filter service would start with a fluid flush and filter change.Well hope this helps, and good luck.

How much transmission fluid do I put in my 2003 alero. I am changing the filter and gasket.

IT WILL TAKE 7 QUARTS FOR FLUID CHANGE.YOU NEED TO USE FACTORY GASKET.BECAUSE THE GASKET THAT COME WITH FILTER WILL LEAK.I HAD THAT PROBLEM.YOU CAN REUSE THE OLD GASKET.ITS THICK RUBBER GASKET WITH HOLDING HOLDING TABS THAT HOLD IT IN PLACE.IF GASKET LOOKS DAMAGED OR BAD ITS BEST TO BUY IT AT DEALERS SHIP.IT COST ABOUT $40.00 DOLLARS.THE GASKET THAT COME IN FILTER KIT IT TOO THIN.IT PLAIN.IT DONT HAVE SEALING BEADS IN IT.WHEN YOU PUT IT ON ADD FLUID TRANSMISSION WILL LEAK THROUGH THE GASKET.LOOK AT THE OLD GASKET LOOK AT THE DOUBLE SEAL BEAD IT HAS IT KEEP IT FROM LEAKING.

94 buick park ave runs great but with a light load it shakes, accelerates good and in park or neutral is smooth changed plugs and wires

Several possibilities having to do with the torque converter clutch and TCC solenoid:

1. Replace transmission fluid, use a synthetic Dex VI, do a complete flush with pan removal and filter replacement

2. Check all grounds related to the transmission control solenoids, clean them and ensure good electrical contact.

3. Rebuild transmission, the TCC friction material is worn out.

Will be hard to change a transmission filter in a 89 buick park avenue?

the trans filter is internal.raise & support vehicle.fluid is drained by removing transmission pan.this can get messy.trans pan gasket & filter are usually sold as a set.fill W/new fluid through dipstick tube.note that trans will not need as much fluid as is listed in specifications--torque converter will not drain.if you change your own oil;this is the next step.

How to do transmission gasket

Front of car on jackstands, drop pan(need to catch about 7 quarts or fluid).I always remove all the 10 MM bolts on the small side, then loosen th big side to contain the mess....You will proboblhy want to replace the filter while your at it,since a filter kit usually comes with gasket....around 30 bucks then do not overtighten new gasket...good luck...Lee
