VW Edition 30 Caddy (2012) Van 97000km had scheduled oil change on 21/07/2017 with only short city drives until 9th August when Turbo disintegrated 40km into a freeway drive at 100kmph. What cause?

If you used a different grade of oil or graphite oil, the nozzle that sprays oil on the bearings in the turbo can plug up stopping lubrication and that will cause a massive failure

Black engine oil is a sign of old oil...drain and fill including oil filter, and check again...depending on driving habits...change every 3,000 (4 months) for city driving...every 7500 for city/highway or every 4 months...your oil is the "lifeblood" of your motor...also check/change the PCV valve for proper air filtering to your oil...Hope this helps.

What needs to be done when the car says it needs to change engine oil

Your car has a specified change engine oil is based on recommended miles buy the is not critical that you immediacy chage the oil..a lot of things determine is how you drive, where you drive if you drive only highway miles in a clean enviorment could be a dirty air enviornm or in daily stop and go city traffic could be know the conditions so use that as your change oil time or simply follow the cars signal to change..good luvk

I have a 2005 hyundai elantra that shudders sometimes when shifting gears... worried it might be the transmission slipping. Seems to be between first and second (automatic) mostly. I drive a lot of city...

Hi Christina, I know your engine oil is due for changing but have you ever changed your transmission oil of filter, you should do it regular if you city drive all the time

I have a 2005 Trailblazer v6 and I have been getting horrible gas milage. Started to notice this start a couple of months a go when I had a bearing go bad in a pully. Since then I've had the thermostate...

have u tried replacinging the air filter with all the city driving it could be clogged from the smog and dirt, and u might want to check your spark plugs to it is rare for them to go with such little miles but they or maybe only a couple could be bad from all the stop go heat up and cool down of the daily city driving, so check the air filter and then just pull a couple of your plugs and see how they look if they look bad (burnt, oily- got a bigger issue, dirty, etc) then try replacing them

How many miles until oil change, 3 K or 6 K

If you drive mostly in city type situations, then it's 3K. if you do mostly hi-way 25+miles each way every day then it can go 5k. I wouldn't go more then that unless you use synthetic oil.

When do I have change oil for Mazda MPV 1998

If you drive normally then change your oil/filter every 5,000 miles. If you drive mostly city driving change it every 4,000 miles. If you drive mostly highway then change it every 6,000 miles. If you are using a synthetic oil then add 1,000 miles to each of these intervals. Use the correct weight oil for your 1997 MPV as listed in the owner's manual. Also use a quality filter such as Purolator, Wix, or Bosch. Change your air filter every 30,000 miles unless you drive in dusty conditions and then change it more often.

At red light engine seems like it wants to cut off.

try changing your pcv valve. if its dirty it may be causing the shuttering. as for the check engine light going on and off, you may have a bad gas cap. if the cap is faulty it will cause the engine light to come on at times because of a poor air to fuel ratio.

How often I have change the oil from the diferencial

Depends on driving conditions, highway or city driving?
Depends on what type oil you are running in the car synthetic normally goes longer between intervals. If you are driving mostly city with regular oil would recomend changing the oil every 3 to 4K miles.
If you are using synthectic you can go 5 to 7K

My 2002 Bettle TDI has very black oil after 5000 km Why?

City driving is about the hardest thing you can do to engine oil. If your primary driving is city driving it would be advisible to cut the oil change duration by a third to help keep it clean.
