SOURCE: do you know where i

There is usually only one vacuum connection on a turbo 350. It connects to the modulator valve on the side of the transmission. This valve uses engine vacuum to determine transmission shift points. The other end usually connects to a direct engine vacuum source. A "direct source" is a hose connection on the throttle body that has a vacuum signal available at idle. If it doesn't, then it's considered a "ported source".I have had some experience with the chevy blazer/gmc jimmy series, both the early large body models and the small body versions. The stalling when put into gear complaint is most likely caused by a bad intake gasket which is common on the older versions with the small block V8 motors. The newer versions with the vortek motors also had allot of trouble with throttle body gaskets. If these problems have not already been addressed, then there's a good chance that it will take care of the problem. Other possible sources of vacuum leaks are the pcv hose that is hard and brittle. Check the hose out carefully, especially the side that normally faces the engine. Check the throttle body bolts (carburetor bolts) for tightness. I hope that this information is helpful to you. Thank you for using

I have a street fighter transmission fluid levels r fine but wont shift

Hows the fluid Look? Red, brown, black? how's it smell? like trans fluid or burnt? What do you have? the 350, 350 turbo, or 400 transmission? Fairly easy to rebuild. By chance( I don't know when they came out) the 700R4. I bit more difficult to build. Find someone that knows about these. Buy the manuals and upgrades. Follow them closely. has them.

What transmission come out in a 1983 chevy silverado

It should be the 700 r4 transmission with the 350 block,
unless someone changed it out, it could be a turbo 350, if the truck is a 3/4 ton.
if you have 3 gears and over drive it is a 700 r4
only 3 gears turbo 350

You will have to cut into the transmission hump until you have enough room to fit your new transmission and get the shift linkage in place. Then you can rebuild around the new setup. It might be easier to get a new hump from a later model car that came with a 350 or 400 transmission and replace your old one with that. Hope this helps.

Tranny goes in reverse but wont go into foward gears

how many miles on trans? does fluid smell burnt?350 turbos are good tranneys but they do go bad. in my experance its reverse that goes out first on thies transmissions but thats not saying that it does not happen the other way either. my best guess is you need a rebuild. when you say it tries to move in forward gear that tells me that the clutches are shot. 350 turbos are worth rebuilding. its up to you.
