Question about 2004 Renault Sportwagon
Classic symptoms of petrol in diesel ,but with these engines their is no keyway on the timing belt sprockets and its not unusual for the sprocket to move if a new timing belt has been fitted ,Now their is a special tool for alignment of the crank to tdc ,on the front of the engine level with the crank right hand side about 2 inches from the bell housing is a bolt ,this comes out and a special tool is inserted to locate TDC its like a long pin ,then crank is locked into this position with another special tool that locks the starter ring gear .and the cams are locked with another special tool .also its a common rail and to locate a injection fault then this vehicle uses encrypted software that can only be read by the dealer over an internet connection with renault thats well secure as it calls back the dealer to confirm caller ID then the operator has to put his finger print into the computer to open the connection.Check the fuel first and see if it smells of petrol ??
