If you have codes for your battery than loosen negative terminal of your battery and turn all lights on than remove terminal completely.turn lights off and than coneect battery after a min or so.take for a test drive and if it comes back on than take it to a workshop and get a diagnostic done on computer.

Check your gas cap. If the gas cap is night fitted tightly, it can cause the service light to stay on.

Nissan Sentra 2005 Service engine light, gas overflow

Start by getting the DTCs diagnostic trouble codes as they will point you in the right direction. You may have some blockage in the vent tube or the vent solenoid fail but really what good is guessing when you can simply get the trouble codes and have a starting point.

Service engine soon light came on. all fluid levels are good and the vehicle runs fine. What do I do?

if the light is on steady you need to get it scanned for dtc's (diagnostic trouble codes) a lot of times it is an evap system code. you may want to ck. gas cap tightness. but the light is a warning light that could be on for any number of reasons. sorry i couldnt be more help. if the gas cap was loose the light will go out after 3 drive cycles with out a problem.

Service engine light came on, after lifting hood

Were you at a service station fiiling your gas tank when you had your washer level checked? If yes, your gas cap is not enough tight. You must hear few clicks sound by the end tighting your cap back in place.
If it's the case, tight it correctly and chances are that the code/service light will disappear by itself during the next few days.

If it's not related to the gas cap iI don't see any relation with opening the hood. If the light stays on permanently visit your auto parts and ask them to get the OBD code from your vehicule computer.
Hope it will help

Service engine light stays on. Adjustment of gas

Hi:
The gas cap is usually a good suspect in this case, but to figure it out, you need to have your code scanned to figure out what is causing the light. Most auto parts stores will scan it for free, so give them a shot

Service engine light staying on

Hello tdamm...No...the service engine soon (SES) light on your yukon is not telling you to change the oil.
This is a warning light that is illuminated when there is a problem affecting the Emission system and the engines computer management (ECM) has detected it from a fault. It could be something as simple as a loose or defective gas cap. If the SES light is blinking, it's more serious....
The yukon needs to be connected to diagnostic equipment (scanner) for fault diagnosis.
You can go to autozone they will hook up an OBD II scanner to your vehicle and explain the codes to you.
Good luck...i hope this helps and will fixya up.

Check engine light/gas cap will not stay tight.

Yes, the gas cap will cause the Check Engine Light to come on. Will set code P0441 if I remember correctly. It should be okay to drive it. If you would like to confirm the code, take the truck to an auto parts store like Autozone and have them hook up their scan tool and read the code. If its P0441 it will probably be something like EVAP or Evaporative system leak.

Its an easy enough fix while your there too, just pick up a new gas cap or you could pick up an OEM one from the dealership.
