Hi. if your coolant is dropping down, there is a coolant leak on the heater matrix (little heater RADIATOR for heating the car and is usually under the dashboard). DO NOT LET THE COOLANT DROP DOWN AS THIS WILL BLOW THE (HEAD GASGET). please check the water (coolant) level daily, and try to fix this as soon as posible. gerry

Drivers carpet getting wet in rain windscreen checked ok not leaking through door! MAYBE FIREWALL

maybe the firewall, but number one reason is a rust hole in the floor or a floor drain plug that has come out. Lift the carpet and under padding a check.

Could also be the heater core, but that would wet the floor all the time.

Floor on drivers side just in front of my seat gets soaked after a rain

Hi Ruth
Probably running down from bad seal in windscreen. Get someone to hold hose above bottom edge of windscreen while you check inside for leaking water running down firewall into carpet. Probably on drivers side just above where carpet first gets wet. Once you find hole in caulking compound where water gets in... plug it with silicone silastic.
Cheers

It could still be a leaking windshield and running under the carpet.
Or it could be a door gasket or one of the roof drains is plugged up.
You may need a body shop to check it out.

The pipe has come off its connection, push the drivers seat fully back and kneel on the ground beside the seat. Stick you head in the footwell as far as you can and look to the right (drivers side) past the back of the fusebox. You'll see a few inches of clear plastic pipe protruding from under the carpet which connects to a nipple mounted on the inner side panel of the car via a right angled black rubber pipe. On mine the right angled pipe had come off the nipple. Push it back on and all is well until it freezes again. Cable tie is one answer.

Carpet wet by driver seat under floor mat

Is it water or brake fluid. Water could be a windscreen leak or leaves have got through the outside grille of the vent, blocking the drain, so when it rains the piping is full of water. As you go around corners the water leaks into the cab.

If it is brake fluid, you have a leak in the master cylinder which allows fluid to leak down the push rod, onto the pedal and into your carpet. If you are not having to top up your brake fluid it is not likely to be the problem.

welcome to the world of sx owners!! most of them leak at that age, and if someone can find out where please post info, usualy from around the windscreen and front end under the screen where the wipers are, its a nightmare to locate the actual leak.i ended up removing the floor drain plug but after a while the carpet began to smell a bit, sold the car cured my problem.
