I would start with the idle air control valve. First remove the air ducting between the air filter box and the throttle. This will give you some room. You will need a cloth and some WD40 lubricant spray or carb choke cleaner spray. Clean the opening of the throttle and the outside of throttle plate until it is like new. Using your fingers press against the top of the throttle plate and rotate fully open. Continue to clean the throttle opening behind the plate as far as possible. Now remove the electrical connection and unscrew the two Philips screws securing the IAC valve to the side of the throttle body. Clean everything thoroughly; access ports and valve seat etc. Reassemble and the fault should be resolved.
