Question about 2001 Maybach 57

1 Answer

Teardrop side exhaust

I love the side exhaust shape. Why not let Maybach make a way over the top luxo-coupe for the person with the latest private jet and the racy yacht?
I think it is reminiscent of the 1938 Phantom Corsair, which to me was a beautiful, if only a fantasy.
Also, I think it has some really killer 23" rims.
Maybe it is just an acquired taste.

I see a visit to a muffler shop in your future. Find an independent privately owned shop, not a chain operated place. They'll be better and cheaper than a chain shop

How it is look like the switch usually on the side of the transmission next to the shifter linkage? Any Picture?

I can't send a picture, but if you have the car on a level surface with the wheels blocked for safety, look on the driver side with the engine off while someone runs the shifter back and forth. You should see a teardrop shaped metal tab move back an forth. The part under that with wires coming out the back side will be the Park/Nuetral/reverese switch. Find a way to mark or take a picture of how the tab points before removing it, because it has to go back on the exact same way to make sure your trans knows what gear it is in.

93 MX6 throttle body is Popping, loud, sounds like a diesel

Sounds like the pipe/connection from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve that is located at or near the throttle body has a leak. That would make a loud popping noise.
