Milage will vary from driver to driver, driving conditions usage of vehicle and so on, best to have them inspected once a year and replace when about thirty percent left

When should a timing belt be changed on a 2006 VW Golf SDI. I am purchasing one with 67,500 miles and I want to know should the belt have been changed already or does it get changed at 80,000 miles.

It should be changed at 80,000 miles but volkswagen dealers will recomend it being changed from 60,000 miles or 4 years, they do this to cover themselves

Hope this helps Chris

How often do you need to change the oil in a 1997 RAV 4?

If you need to ask this question you should consult the service department at a toyota dealership.....
but i will save you the time and them the agony.... maximum i would change any oil in any vehicle is
5000 miles (8000kilometers) but as i say it never hurts to do it early. oil cahnges are cheap in comparision to replacement engines. break-in period of a toyota engine is closer to 20,000miles (32,00kilometers) in that time i would recommend replacing the oil at 100miles, 500miles, 1000miles, 2500miles and 5000miles on the odometer (not between changes).. break-in period is the most critical in an engines life. after that, regular oil changes make the difference between 150,000miles and 500,000 miles.
I got a '97 rav with 282,000miles and it still runs llike a champ. treat it good and it will run forever...
FOREVER TOYOTA....

I have a rav 4 2007 and have had the transmission fluid due to my excessive mileage and when I had it changed it came out black. I had it changed and again it is black what is the cause?

You have to change the trans fluild on ALL
vehicles, at not more than 30,000 miles ,or it
breaks down from the heat

You have a totally burnt trans
Have it pulled and rebuilt

I once owned a trans repair shop
Now you know why they exist

Don't waste your time driving one more mile,
it is gone and probably will need several
internal hard parts, due to the heat.

Please advise me proper maintenance for 2007 jeep liberty sport 36000 mile. last service (34000) it was a list of supposed required stuff to do. just want to know what is needed and not. thanks

I don't know how much maintenace you have done in the past. Besides the normal inspections of the brakes, fluid levels and oil changes they do recomend changing the spark plugs and the axle fluid at 30,000 miles and adjusting your parking brake cable. hope this helps....

At what mileage should the rear brakes be replaced? Is it common for the rear brakes to be replaced at less than 22,000 miles on a 2007 Sonata gls?

Most of the stopping power goes to the front of the car. You usually go thru two sets or sometimes three sets of front pads before you need to change the rear brakes. It sounds odd the rear brakes need to be replaced at 22,000. havee the front brakes been replaced before?

2007 Rav 4- Front Brake pad growl during stops

I had a 2008 rav4 and within the first 10,000 I noticed this problem. Had the pads changed at 12, 22, 30, all free of charge from the dealer. Had the rotors replaced as well twice, the issue came up again & since it was a lease I threatened to sue and I was released from my term fee free. If you are having the same issue post here we need to open a dialogue. I'm sure many people have just paid for repairs without thinking it's an issue on the vehicle. Toyota will deny it until it's a media issue....
