Question about Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

I have a 94 Buick LeSabre that will die while driving it. Sometimes the vehicle will chug or buck while driving at slow or high speeds. When going into a store and coming back out the vehicle will be hard to start, sometimes i will have to wait for a few minutes. These symptoms are very temperamental. I recently changed the fuel pump and filter. Doing that it helped for about a week and then started acting up again.

Voltage regulator

Sounds like a bad connection. The alternator only charges the battery, so if it or the voltage regulator in the alternator fails, the battery would slowly run down, not die all at once.

Car dying when letting off gas

Sounds like it's your IAC (idel air control sensor).  The IAC is a computer-controlled air bypass valve located in the throttle body. It helps control idle speeds by allowing air to bypass the throttle plates as to increase the idle speed.  If the IAC isn't working properly the car will stall when you are not pressing the gas pedal.  It is located on your throttle body and is relatively cheap and a simple change since it is normally held in my two screws.  Let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks for an honest ranking and for using FixYa!

1995 Buick Lesabre custom stalling and idle

did you clean the idle speed control air bypass valve?, u do this by spraying carb spray into the intake while the engine is held at hi idle so it won't stall, use up about half the can, then shut down and disconnect battery for 5 minutes to reset system idle learn, drive the car for a few days and let me know if the problem is fixed.

Erratic idle speed

Have the fuel pressure checked. Could be an erratic pump or pressure regulator.
