Had coolant Bypass line break on the road just got it home had 0 oil Pressure fixed the hoses the next day started it noticed the coolant being pushed out of radiator im guessing a Blown head gasket...

sorry for the delay. if it is like that than your head gasket is bad. that is the only two common points other than the head and cylinder wall! if you do the head gasket make sure to take it to the machine shop to be pressure checked and resurfaced just because it's aluminum.

good luck and if you need any more help please ask

see if you can buy the haynes / chilton or othere repair manual that will get you stated ,
also stop at a good year and see if they can print you out the alldata sheet for that procedure.

Blown Headgasket

without mechanical knowledge, best left to a garage. if you have a bit of knowhow then do an assessment of what is connected to the head, inclusive of exhaust manifold and fuel inlet manifold, wiring etc.Once you decide how to do it, note where all bolts and wires go.Clean every bit of old gasket off all faces and as the head is alloy get a head skim from a motor factor or machine company. You will need a new set of cylider head bolts and full head gasket set. Torque settings , however will need to be obtained along with the head bolt sequence for retightening

Blown head gasket

Look the engine over and see if you can find any external leaks, change the thermostat and make sure that fan(s) are operating.
Check the oil for water...loosing that much, it has to show up somewhere. Blown headgasket usually puts oil in coolant or coolant in oil, causes an external leak from between head and block or goes out through the tailpipe as steam.
look carefully and you will find your problem!!

BLOWN HEAD GASKET

crandallyoun: replacing the head gasket on the motor will run roughly $7-800.00 excluding any incidentals. This is just the head gasket and labor There are variables.
As far as you changing it? This is a serious engine and an expensive one to make a mistake on. You can find Haynes manuals in the book stores which will give you the step by step with illustrations. There are also a few other publications. If you go on ebay you may even be able to buy a factory manuel.

Loosing water with no visible leak (one to two pints a day)

Hi tsmediaconce:

The water can only go one of 2 places, the crankcase or the exhaust. A blown head gasket could definitely be the problem. If oyu can get hold of a compression gauge you need to check the compression on each cylinder. If the head gasket is blown around the area of a cylinder you will see a low reading on that cylinder when you check compression.. Also chek the radiator for the presence of air bubbles. this indicates the head gasket is blown next to a water port.

The main thing to look for on the compression test is one cylinder that is markedly lower than the rest.

Hope this helps Good Luck Loringh Ps Please leave a rating if appropriate Thanks
