Question about 2003 Kia Spectra

1 Answer

When A/C or defrost is on, it inadvertantly kicks on and off when it wants to. Already checked...no loose connections, just flickers and comes on and off when it wants to. Sometimes works fine, other times can push button to turn A/C on and absolutely nothing happens.

The AC will cycle on and off as normal operation. If it's not coming on when it should, it could be low refrigerant, bad compressor, or the switch could be bad.

My battery light and brake light goes on , some time goes off and on / I have a new battery and I change the altalnator

Check the battery terminals (where they are connected to the engine.) Those clamps can be loose or corroded. It happened to me and if i hit a bump or the road was bumpy, the battery cables would slide loose and the power would flicker or die completely
Open the hood when the car is off and try to wiggle the positive nad negative connections on your battery. They shouldn't move at all. If they're loose, tighten them up carefully. If they're covered in battery acid or corroded, then you may need new terminals for your new battery to connect well to your engine. Good luck, i hope this helps.

2002 Chev,. Cav Back window defroster stopped working

If the fuse is good and the light for the rear defroster works, ie; lights up, then check by the drivers side kick panel/ carpet area. There is a connection where I believe a Purple or Purple/White wire connects to the heavier gauge black wire in a plug. They tend to melt and loose connection. You will have to hard wire them or use **** connectors. Basically they use two different gauge wires at this connection and that seems to cause the problem.

My 2001 Sebring blows hot air except when I turn the control knob to defrost, then it blows cold air and the condenser fan kicks on . Chrysler has already replaced the evaporator core and that did not fix...

If the ac is turned on and it comes threw the defrost, then it is not the cooling fans, but check them to see that they are coming on,and they are turning fast, the control head is more likely the problem.

Oil light on when oil is full

a loose connection WILL NOT cause flickering oil light unless your your oil is empty at the same time a connector is loose. This flickering is most likely caused by clogged oil ports or failing oil pump. When this happens there is insufficient oil running through the engine, causing the sensor to activate the light intermittedly. Have this checked immediately to prevent extensive engine damage. Hopefully this helps!!

The defroster is only blows on passenger side not the driver side

Check down by where your feet usually are and to thre right, and make sure you didn't inadvertantly kick off any vacuum lines from the door control servos in the center lower dash area. Thank you, Dana

1998 Chevy S10 pickup air condition compres is on instead of heat

First be sure that you do not have the controls set to defrost the windows since on just about all vehicles nowadays with the controls set that way the air conditioner will be turned on...even if it is not so warm outside. So...be sure that you do not have any of the controls set to defrost and that the heater is turned all the way on.

It sounds like though that the control for the vents is not operating properly. This is a combination of mechanical movements of the vent flaps and small "air motors" that operate the flaps. These air units are controlled by air vacuum taken from the engine compartment through tiny hoses. If the hoses get cracks, holes or come loose from their fittings then your vents will not move correctly so it is a matter of looking and tracing each one of the hoses to make sure they are fastened correctly, have not come loose and are not cracked or leaking. The problem can even be in the engine compartment where the hose(s) connect to the engine vacuum system...so it will take lots of looking carefully with flashlights etc....good luck.

My probe gt air bag light has been blinking a code for a year now. it blinks twice than once what does it mean

DTC21: SAFING SENSOR NOT MOUNTED TO VEHICLE PROPERLY

It's the airbag diagnostic monitor. May just be a grounding issue with the sensor - came loose or has some dirt in it.
Check the kick panel underneath the driver's side and see if anything came loose (might have inadvertently kicked something),
