Truck will not turn over. I checked plugs and wires, and there was engine oil on two spark plugs. Is it over for my weekend work truck?

Crv shut down oil cap lefted off and oil all over engine and truck shutn down checked and found oil fill the spark channel and boots so replace the gasket and plugs and cleaned off the wires and now have...

have you put a new set of plug wires on it. use a spark plug tester, and put it between plug wire and dist, cap. if it is sparking you will see it. if yes and not to plugs put on new plug wires. good-day ! if above checks out. remove dist, cap and see if shaft of dist, is turning. some of the hondas have a plastic type drive gear on bottom of dist, shaft. that goes bad.

Missfire on my vw golf gls 2001 on the 2 cylinders is it spark plugs and wires?? The check engine light is on and my air doesnt work could it use gas to make it work ?? Also when im driving my oil...

i'll answer based on the importance of the problem:

1. oil light.
make sure that your oil level is correct. you can check it by removing your dip stick.

2. air is not working.
it means you have a rich mixture (meaning your engine does not have the correct air/fuel ratio). most common cause of this problem is very dirty/very old air filter. if the air filter seems ok, have your fuel injectors and air vaccuums cleaned.

3. misfires.
to check if your high tension wire(htw) is working, detach the suspected wire from the spark plug (detach the end connected to the plug only). turn on your engine. slowly move the detached wire towards the head (cylinder head) and see if there will be sparks. if there are sparks, then spark plugs is your problem

My truck is a 1996 1/2ton there is gas getting to the engine and there is spark in the spark plugs we fixed the distributor cap and checked all the spark plug wires, the truck will turn over but it will...

Hmm, This sounds like a timing problem.

Best way to do this easily is that:

Take out the #1 spark plug crank/tap motor over until air comes out of spark plug hole--compression stroke(this is "TDC"---Top Dead Center)

Remove Distrubutor cap and check and see if rotor points to #1 spark plug wire on cap----if not move the #1 spark plug wire to that position on cap---then install rest of spark plug wires according to the firing order from the #1 plug wire.

Install #1 spark plug and start truck---you may have to rotate distributor a little bit to get best performance.

Oil light stays on and truck wont tern on Doge Ram 1500 V8 Laramie I just pout new water pump, oil filter, oil, Battery, and distributor. Now the truck wont start. The starter terns but there is no kick. I...

If you replaced the distributor, it may be out of time. Find the firing timing mark on the harmonic damper and adjoining degree scale then mark those two points with white paint. Hook a timing light on #1 spark plug wire (driver's side front), and turn the engine over looking for the light flash to illuminate when the marks match up. Rotate the distributor until it does. If it is nowhere close, then you will have to align the distributor manually by removing #1 plug, turn the engine CW with a wrench on the crankshaft bolt while keeping a finger in the plug hole and continue until the cylinder is building compression--at the point, remove your finger and keep turning the engine until the timing marks line up. Check the rotor of the distributor which should be pointing at the #1 plug wire position in the cap. If way off, the distributor needs to be removed and turn the shaft until the rotor points correctly when the unit is reinstalled. Final adjustment is then accomplished by rotating the body of the distributor. Whew! Hope this gets you running.

Truck seems to misfire when are going between 65mph and 70mph

# 5 cylinder is 3rd back on the driver side.
Check you spark plug! if the plug is ok, check your plug wire! (a good way to check your wire is to get a spray bottle, fill it with half rubbing alcohol, and half water. wait till night, spray plug wires fully, then start truck. the wire that is bad should spark! hope this works for ya!!

1999 nissan frontier is idling rough the truck shakes but shaking stops when the air is turned on. changed oil, spark plugs, spark plug wires and distributor cap.

This can be your Idle control valve, when you turn the air on it puts the engine under load and your computer will increase the idle automatically to prevent the engine from cutting out.
When you are standing still and the car is shaking, by touching the accelerator very softly does the shaking stop? If so check the idle control valve.
I hope this will help.

Sam

Truck is missing

While The Truck Is Off You Can Unplug One Of The Spark Plug Wires Then Turn It On If It Runs The Same You've Found The cylinder.
Its Directly Under That Spark Plug Most Likely You'll Just Need New Plugs.
