Replace cv joint 2006 chrysler sebring

remove wheel then remove the brake caliper from its mounting and support with a wire out of way, then rotor assembly, separate the ball joint from the spindle. remove the axle nut and pull the shaft out of the spindle. then pull half shaft out of the transaxle(transmission). be aware you will lose some trans fluid that you will have to replace. install new half shaft and re assemble in reverse order. the axle nut torque is 135 lbs. its cheaper to replace the half shaft as a unit as opposed to just the cv joint.

2004 chrysler sebring... when i drive it more then 30 miles there is a ticking sound in the engine, theres a squeaky noise in the front when i go over a bumb. and the major thing is that theres a harsh...

Ticking in motor after engine heats up- do you keep your oil changed every 3,000 miles? Broken down and dirty oil will cause this. Squeek over bumps could be bad strut or it could be related to the harsh grinding noise going around turns. That is indicative of a bad CV joint or wheel bearing.
Raise car on side noise is coming from. Grab wheel with both hands and pull/push on wheel then wiggle back and forth. Feel excessive play? Grab drive axle also doing same thing feel for play or notice if rubber boot on drive axle torn or separated from axle. Usually you will feel play or notice a kind of clunking. I would say replace CV joint and wheel bearing at the same time as one will usually affect the other and both will be bad if one has went out. Not an easy fix and requires special tools. Take to a qualified mechanic, it will save you a big headache.

On my 2002 Sebring LXi 2.7L there are so many rattles and noises when I go over any size bumps. Had front top strut bushings replaced, but did not help.

Need to check the entire front end at a place like Sears or your dealership to determine what parts have excessive play in them. Sears doesn't usually charge for this service, in hopes that you would have them work on the car in the future.

Sometimes, the cv joints are worn and cause a rattle or clicking on turns. Also, the bushings for the lower control arms sometimes wear out causing a rattle or other noise that can be disconcerting.

When the strut bushings were replaced, were the other parts in the front end checked out?

Good luck on this repair.

Clicking, sticking sound from front end, drivers side

It is your cv joint that is bad. If you jack the van up on that side, check to see if the boot is ripped...and more than likely your cv joint is about shot...even if the boot is intact.

The cv joint is bad....

Front end knocking from 97 sebring

Move it to 3rd instead of drive and see if you still have the noise. May be transmission related since you have replaced everything else.
