SOURCE: trying to find out if the head gasket is blown, how will i know

Is there any water in the oil or oil in the water ? there is a tool also you can use that hooks on the radiator cap that you pressure up on while car is not running to see if your loosing pressure in the system. you pump it up and watch the gauge to see if it drops in pressure .. if so it is leaking somewhere .. holler if you need more Jerry

95 camaro 3.4 l replaced head gasket & timing chain now hard to start but does start when i give gas pops through throttle also here lifter tapping

recheck the valve timing as it appears that you may be a tooth out on the chain and you have an inlet valve not quite closed . The tapping may be the piston just touching the valve head from the wrong timing

How to repair blown head gasdet

Hello, best way to repair head gaskets is to have it done professionally and have the heads meachined. Your local auto store have a "repair in a bottle" type deal. That only works depending on how bad the gaskets are. If you chose to use be sure to follow the directions exactly.

I have a coolant leak in my 1995 camaro. The mechanic said it was where the timing cover meets the block. He said it looks like a gasket, and it is a hugh job to fix. What should I do?

It sounds like a head gasket.Do you overheat? Boil Over? If you do it is the head gasket. It is a big expensive job. There are sealers I have used available only online Seal a Head worked great. There is a test called an Engine sniffer that can positively confirm a bad head gasket. You must confirm.Look for my response on other overheating,Head Gasket issue on this site.Good Luck.
