Question about Ford F-250

When selecting heating option on temperature selector, only cold air comes out. I have replace thermostat, but this did not solve the problem.

Maybe you have a bad heater core they actb this way

Fuse for heater in 2006 Ford Escape


Replace the thermostat and if that doesn't work have the heater core purged of its air while engine is at normal driving temps. Have this done professionally or wear really good gloves do that you don't get burned.

The heater does not blow warm air


you might have air in the heater core if you let your antifreeze get too low. it might be too low now. maybe the temperature selector cable is broke and flap is closed to let heat come through. could be thermostat is stuck open and engine can't build heat. heater core might be plugged.

Ac blows hot air comp is running


Make sure that the tubing around the accumulator is getting cold.
If not, the refrigerant may not be charged up.
Otherwise, the vacuum motor for selecting cold air may be not working correctly causing heated air from the heater core to be routed to the interior of the car.

Do you hear the vacuum motors working when adjusting the heat to cold selector? or changing the thermostat temperature if so equipped?

Blower on heat/a not working


So it works with a/c but doesn/t work with heat. Is that what your saying?
Or it blows cold air on heat selection?

If it blows but only blows cold air on heat selection
check out the following items:
temperature selector switch
blend door actuator and motor.



Here are a list of items to check out or have a shop inspect if it doesn't blow anything at all.
a) on/off switch
b) relay
c wiring
d) resistors
e) blower motor

Heat selector malfunction


Where is the clicking noise coming from, the engine compartment or the dash panel? Probably not the heat selector switch, so I'm willing to bet the thermostat is sticking and not opening, which is lesding to you not having heat and the clicking noise you are hearing. Replace the thermostat.

Where is the temperature sensor located on a 2002 hyundai accent


okay temp is not hot enough check thermostat temp rating is it 195 degree etc. are you in a cold climate state? Maybe you need to get a thermostat of a hotter degree[four seasons 195 degree should do it]. If this is what you have (195 deg. thermo) then it might be stuck open not allowing the heat to build up. Another possibility is air in the radiator system, bleed system. This too might be of help the blend door, which is operated by the HOT to COLD lever on your climate control panel, might not be moving all the way closed to stop the cold air from coming in the mix area with the heat. Move the lever back and fourth to feel any change in heat with your hand. Put the defroster on fan on high and put one hand near the defroster vent thee other hand moving the temperature selector. Do you have some sort of heat and you can feel the difference from hot and cold, then my recommendation is to check thermo degree rating, if ok then try to flush radiator, and if that does not work --replace Heater Core. 1998 Tercel Cold heat to the windshield. Lukewarm out front vent.

I just replaced my thermostat in my car due to the same problem. Except mine was a 92. I figured I'd start with the thermostat and antifreeze. Then the heating core. Now I have heat.

But yet I still have no heat on the windshield.

I have the same problem with my windstar blower is fine but is coming cold air but no heat i dont know what to do can any one show me how to fix it thnx


First, feel the heater hoses going into the firewall under the hood. If they are hot, then you have hot engine coolant going into the heater core. If they are not hot, then you either have a bad thermostat or you are very low on engine coolant.

Next you need air flowing through the heater core so it can come out heated through your vents. If the iar is flowing somewhere else, your temp blend door is not moving because the bend door motor is bad or your temp knob on your heater controls is bad. The blend door motor is an electric motor.

Air Flow Control
Air flow control is accomplished in the following manner:
  • Primary control is through the function selector knob , mounted on the heater function selector switch, which is part of the heater control .
  • The function selector knob has the following positions: OFF, PANEL, PANEL/FLOOR, FLOOR, FLOOR/DEFROST and DEFROST.
  • The heater function selector switch combines a vacuum selector valve with an internal electrical switch.
  • The vacuum selector valve directs source vacuum to various vacuum control motors (18A318) . Refer to the System Airflow Schematic and Vacuum Control Charts.
  • An internal single-pole electrical switch is also controlled by the selector. The switch controls the electrical supply to the heater blower motor switch (18578) .
  • The position of the function selector knob determines the manner in which the system will operate.
  • Each position of the function selector knob is detented for positive engagement.
Temperature Control
The temperature control operates in the following manner:
  • Temperature control of the heater system is determined by the position of the temperature control knob (between COOL-BLUE and WARM-RED) of the heater control .
  • This control knob is connected to a potentiometer mounted in the heater control . This potentiometer is electrically connected to the electric blend door actuator that operates the A/C air temperature control door.

  • Movement of the control knob from COOL (Blue) to WARM (Red) causes a corresponding movement on the air temperature control door and determines the temperature that the system will maintain.
System uses a reheat method to provide conditioned air to the passenger compartment.
  • All airflow from the blower motor (18527) passes through the A/C evaporator housing .
  • Temperature is then regulated by reheating a portion of the air and blending it with the remaining cool air to the desired temperature.
  • Temperature blending is varied by the air temperature control door, which regulates the amount of air that flows through and/or around the heater core (18476) , where it is then mixed and distributed.

Cold air coming from car heater


feel the smaller two radiator hoses that go to the heater core near the firewall after engine has ran about 20 minutes and if these 2 hoses are cold to the touch then thermostat needs replaced. if they are hot then problem is with temperature selector
