I have a misfire in 1 cylinder I had just bought spark plugs and wires I went back and reguaged them all and it still has a misfire what else could it be I have a 2001 Mercury sable.

It could be a coil pack. Follow the wire from the spark plug back to the coil pack. each one should run two cylinders. Switch the coil pack with a different one and see if a different cylinder misfires. They are easy to change, just 2 7mm screws hold each one on.

What is the best way to change spark pluges in a 2000 sable v-6?

The best way is to remove each plug wire and plug one at a time, so as not to mess up the firing order. The spark plugs on the firewall side are a bear to get to but the only way to get to them is thru the top of the motor and a 5/8 wobbly spark plug socket does come in very handy for this by the way.Hope I could help, Rate me accordingly, Thanks!!

My 2003 Mercury Sable station wagon with the 24 valve 6cyl. seems to be missing at idle and occasionally on acceleration. I changed the plugs and wires and ran fuel injector cleaner for a month. Nothing...

Check the coil out put.
Loosen the wires from the plugs with the engine off then find some plastic plyers or an insulated tool to remove the wire without getting shocked.
Start the car and one by one remove and replace each wire to see which one does not make a difference in the way the engine runs. Thats the one that probably has a bad coil.

2000 Mercury Sable 24V 3.o engine. Need to know

yes about the upper intake and the only way i know how to check the coils is with a engine anilyser or if the check engine light comes on then you can have the codes pulled and that will tell you which cylender is missfiring this engine has a indevidual coil for each spark plug so thares 6 of them and thay slide right down over the sparkplugs

How do i reach the rear spark plugs on the 24v 3.0L 1999 Mercury Sable

I recently did a tuneup on my 88 sable, and the back spark plugs were a pain to get to. However, it didn't require any special procedures. You may want to try getting a SMALL ratchet extension to avoid jamming your wrench into the firewall, because without one you won't be able to get far enough into the spark plug seat and a normal sized extension will prevent you from getting in at all. You could also try an appropriately sized deep socket (sorry I can't remember what size the plugs are) and use that instead of a spark plug socket. Just try to use the spark plug socket to put the new ones in, or you may damage the connectors using a normal socket.
