If you look at valve cover or side of motor there is a **** looks like a knife mark then on crank there is a line on the block it self just match the marks with the pulleys marks hope this helps

It's on TDC so align marks on cam shaft and crank shaft with center of cam & crank shafts and the ECM will go from there. so you will have to change the timing chain if its loose or worn out.

Install timing chain 1999 monte carlo

you need to buy haynes repair manual it will show you the camshaft sprocket and crankshaft sprocket timing marks and manual will show and tell you how to remove timing need lots of tool and a engine light support engine you have to remove oil pan so bottom part timing cover will seal correctly if you dont remove oil pan bottom timing cover seal will be in a bind you will have oil leak.

if v-8 camshaft dot down -crankshaft dot up - dist. rotor on no;1 piston will be top dead center - balancer mark will be 0

Trouble finding where to add steering fluid on 1999 monte carlo

open the hood and look to the left of the motor where the belt is, there is a cap on a resivoir that says power steering fluid, thats where the fluid goes

if the belt broke you more than likely bent valves but the marks on the gears line up witrh marks on valve cover and crank has a mark that lines up with mark on block
