The cover you need to remove is the one around the hazerd flasher button. The flasher unit is part of the button.(hazard and turn signal) The cover is supposed to just pull off but you may have to use a small screwdriver or knife. Wrap it in cloth so you dont scratch anything. Start at one corner and work away from there. The hazards button comes out the same wuy. Pull or lever with a knife. Before unplugging the switch fasten a piece of string to the wiring harness behind it, just in case the connector drops back into the hole, where you will spend an hour trying to fish it out.

Turn signals not working audi a6 2002

turn signal switch most likely. But it could have a faulty flasher relay. the signals and the hazards probably have seperate flasher relays and possibly on different circuits so check fuses as well

I need to change the flasher relay on my 2000 A6 Quatro. I have removed the cover above the radio, to expose the hazard switch, but I cannot get the hazard switch out. How can I get the hazard switch out ?

The hazard switch is hard to get out. It has one clip on each side. By using a flat screwdriver on one side, and conciderable force, the whole thing came sliding out.

My turn signals do not work on my 2000 Audi A4

HI, this is a defective flasher relay. you will need to replace this relay asap. this will fix your issue.

The flasher relay is located behind the lower left side dash panel/knee bar.
  1. Remove the lower dash panel/knee bar to access the flasher relay.
  2. Remove the relay from the electrical connector and replace as necessary.

You need a new hazard light switch - the relay for the hazards and turn signals is built in. It's $40 or so at a dealership to buy a new one.

I need to replace the flasher unit in a Audi A6

Looks like the flasher relay is in the hazard switch assembly. A couple of tabs hold the prettry faux wood decorative plate in. You edge these out from underneath with a couple of small screwdrivers. I found it easier to remove the radio/CD unit (but remember you need the 4-digit code to re-enliven it). My plate shot off along with the switch covers and ashtray cover. (I think I've found most of them). Next you edge out the hazard switch assembly from its bottom. The cheapest place to get a new $30 assembly was accessoriesgiant.com (probably made in Mexico, along with the $60 OEM part).

The flasher relay, which is actually part of the hazard switch, must be replaced. You have to pry off the trim piece around the hazard button and remove the switch/relay for replaceing. Note that the trim can be difficult to remove and the relay/switch is also tough to get out.
