Question about 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt

2 Answers

My lights were left on overnight. I went to start my car and nothing, the key wont come out of the ignition. and it's the only one i have so I cant get to the trunk to change the batter or even try to charge right off the battery. I cant even fold the seats down to get in the trunk because the mechanism for that is in the trunk too. I'm not sure what to do now. I've tried to see if someone can make me a key but all the shops are closed for the weekend. What should I do now?

Pop the hood. On the driver's side(under the hood) there is a red cap close to the hood shock. Take the red cap off and there is a metal post under it. This is used for a jump start since the battery is so hard to reach. You will want to put the positive cable(from a set of jumper cables or a battery charger) on the metal pole and the ground cable can be connected to a bolt under the hood. you may have to find a bolt that dosen't have a lot of paint under it to get a good connection. Once you can get it started again it may be easier to get the key out of the ignition. hope this helps you

I left my keys in the ignition overnight and now the car wont start..

You should only need to get a jump start if the keys were left in the ignition, assuming that some inside lights might have been left on too. Check the battery to make sure it has water in it before someone tries to jump start it if it is not a sealed battery

New battery In mercedes no power

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

My 97 audi a6 wont start or jump start.

It sounds like you have a couple of problems going on. First if your car wont start it could be the starter but if there is no noise you may have an ignition problem. Ignition problems usually occur in the steering wheel column. Try tilting your stearing wheel up and down a couple of times. If that does not work it might be your starter if it is you can get under your car and arc it. Or it could be your altenator but the only way to test that is if you take it off and take it to napa or something . I hope it is your altenator because it is usually a quick and cheep fix. good luck.

sounds like a bad connection,it wont heat up the solenoid or the starter, check your hot and negative cables from battery to starter first could be the starter itself, ggod luck

You changed the ignition coil from distributor right?
secondly make sure distributor is not internally shattered (which is a common problem). Normally the current comes from Crank sensor or cam shaft sensor !

Cant get the key out of the ignition and nothing works!

When you say "nothing works". Do you mean none of the lights are coming on and it wont start? If yes your battery may be dead or not hooked up or blown fuse or burnt wire.
