It sounds like it the cv joint, you can check the rubber boot on the passenger side. i am sure it is cracked/torn, it will need to be replaced

I have a 2007 F150 4X4 CC 65k miles. Had grinding noise in passenger front hub when in 2wd under load and acceleration, sound went away after switching to 4 Hi. Replaced solenoid and actuator on passenger...

Hello, It would not hurt to check and would cost you nothing to do so. The valving controlling the vacuum to the actuators could be giving you partial engagement. But if only on one side is doing it, I would think it would pull to the passenger side when in 2 wheel drive.

I had a client with a similar noise and on his truck the front driveshaft had a bad u-joint. Because the driveshaft is to your right, at the center of the truck; he also blamed the passengers wheel. You get a lot of sympathetic motion in the drivetrain. If you think about it, wear can occur on one side of the u-joint. When the shaft is being dragged along by sympathetic motion the driveshaft is being pulled, but when you hit 4x4, now the shaft is pushing and the pressure shifts to the opposite side of the u-joint. Under pressure the joint is now tight.

You may observe rust and grease "tracking" in the areas of the U-joint when you check the front driveshaft. I hope my solution is very helpful in solving your problem. Would appreciate a note when you find the cause of this problem.

1995 Ford Escort LX Wagon 1.9 Liter. 173K Loud Vibration

Is the engine running on all four cylinders, no missfire? If so, check the engine and transmission mounts, there are four, one at the top right hand side, one at the top of transmission on the left hand side, and one on front of transmission bell housing, and one in the rear transmission bell housing, any of them that are bad can cause this vibration. Hope this helps, let me know.

Loud noise in front left tire 2004 Ford Taurus SES

You mentioned the noise was from the left (drivers side) front. The compressor is on the passenger side in association with the engine compartment. Question, once the noise starts does it continue while stopped or only while moving?

If it's a growling noise,it's probably a wheel bearing.If it's a clicking noise,it's likely a cv joint,good luck,
