What is it when the gas hand doesn't work?

Either a failed fuel level sensor or bad instrument cluster. More likely the instrument cluster. Do an internet search and you'll likely find someone that can fix it if you can get the cluster out.

How to remove the fuel tank of mercedes 1994 c230 and fix the fuel gauge please tell me , its showing empty the tank but full of petrol, i want to remove the gauge and change or clean it.

The official repair time for replacing the fuel tank is almost seven hours but the given time for replacing the fuel level sensor is less than two hours so it would seem it is not necessary to remove the fuel tank, though it could be necessary to lower it a little.

I suggest you obtain model-specific repair information for your model. There might be access through the body after removing the rear seat cushion, for instance.

Good luck!

How do I get tarspray off my car?

Possibly gasoline. It will not hurt an OEM finish or a good repaint. It may soften the tar so it can be wiped off. Then a good wax job helps to keep stuff from sticking again and protects the paint/clear coat.
I have scraped/chipped off stuck on stuff with a razor blade without doing damage before, but I have had years of experience at it.
I would not recomend rubbing compound, at least to start with. While the Volkswagens have a good amount of paint on them (at least past VW's did). When you're starting with a lump of tar, you could go through the paint that is not covered by it before the tar is removed.

89 mustang 5.0 my factory tint on the hatchback glass is so old i can not hardly see anything through it . can i get it off and if so . is there some sort of chemical to remove it .

Goof off is a brand of solvent that removes anything. Thjat is if you need it, typically the tint on a window is a thin film that can be peeled off with a flat razor. Please rate the solution if this clarifies what you need to do.

Thank you!

How do i change the stop light blub on my 2007 versa hatchback

Hi there,

Inside the trunk/hatch area, directly behind the tail light assembly, are two plastic cover plates. Remove these with a flat tool (screwdriver will work) by prying in the small ****. They pop off. Inside one you will see a nut. This is a 10mm deep socket. NOTE: This nut is very easy to lose once loosened! If at all possible use a magnetic socket. If one is not available, loosen but don't remove completely. Use a magnet to remove. In the other compartment you will see wires on a plastic holder. This holder is snapped over the nut you need to remove (note you may see two, you want the one closest to the access opening). Use a flat (screwdriver) to slip the white cover with wires off the screw post. Use a 10mm wrench to loosen, then remove by hand. From the outside, pull the lamp assembly backwards. If necessary apply a little pressure on the interior screw posts. ACCESS TO LAMPS! Reverse procedure to reinstall. Note on the exterior there is a slot at the front of the lamp assembly when reinstalling. Good Luck!

I followed the advice above but have a few details to add. I used a stick (7/8" x 5/8" x 6") to push on the bottom post and then used a flat stick, actually a paint stirring stick, as a shim between the lens and the car body. With the shim in place I then used a flat nylon strap (a dog leash) which I placed around the tip of the lens, closest to the front of the car. I put both ends of the leash in one hand in order to pull on one side and then used my finger tips on the other hand to pull on the part of the lens closest to the bumper and applied even pressure straight back until the lens popped off allowing access to the light bulbs.

Hope this helps...

How do you put a front license plate on without drilling a hole in the bumper?

Two really powerful magnets to clamp the bumper like a vise. License plate just sticks to outside magnet. Never had the nerve to try it myself, I live in a neighborhood where the rig would get robbed.

It is a very nice car you are driving. I can understand the hesitation you have for drilling holes. Stormsure is a good strong adhesive with flexible properties, but I'd suggest sanding a small portion of the bumper first. Adhesives stick best when there is no clearcoat, paint, or primer to reduce bonding.

If it was my car and I was wanting to put a license plate on my car... I would fashion a bracket that clamped over the bumper. It would be a flat bracket that could slide between bumper and hood. It would be padded with a soft rubber, so it did not damage the paint job too much. It would take a considerable amount of time to create something like that, but it would be removable and have very little trace.

A lot of people go to salvage yards and find replacement bumpers for cheap. Whichever bumper is in the worst condition is the one to practice drilling holes and sanding for adhesive. If you decide to go with a permanent mount, practice first. Only when you are sure the job looks factory or better should you do the job to a nice piece.

Removeing scrathes from metal

Depends how big the scratches are.

some will buff out buy using a good car wax and polishing the scratches out. As long as the scrathes have not gone through the paint down to the metal it will work. If you get some "Tar gone" its and abrasive for getting tar off paint that can some times be a little abbrasive and can get the scratch rubbed out prior to going over the top of that area again after with a good high quality car polish (one you apply by hand with a cloth and rub to a shine - not one you tip in a bucket of water and wash the car with).

If the scratches a really large like wide than a human hair, or if the metal is dented, then the buffing is not going to work and if you can't live with it you may want to consider respray via a car body shop. you can do it your self with a spray can but cars today have a clear top coat for a start that will mean respraying your self will look bad and thats if you can even get the color matched exactly, so if its bad and buffing wont work go see a body shop for a quote.
