Why in oil coming air cleaner intake hose? Leaves a puddle every time I stop.


Hi
The engine produce little oil steam when is at normal temperature, this is normal.
This steam goes to the air cleaner for recycling.
Now, the reasons to see oil dripping from the air cleaner are:
Engine oil overfilled, or engine breather valve( if fitted) faulty, or the piston rings causing the pressure to scape into the oil sump ( this means engine damage).
get a technician to chem it.

Oil in air intake hose


The most common reason is blow-by. The rings may be weak enough to allow compression to "blow by" the rings and get into the crankcase. The pressure pushes oil out the vent hose to the air cleaner.

Oil shoot out through air filter


Hi,
That means your engine already have big blowback, air from engine crankshaft goes out into the engine oil cover and into the pcv valve to the air cleaner.
It is cause by the compression leakage from piston rings.
Better check and clean the PCV first or buy a new one if it is fully blocked. Located from the engine oil cover, follow the hose on top, hose goes into PCV and into air cleaner.

Remove the air filter tube, and clean the throttle body with Throttle Body Cleaner and a rag. Make sure all the carbon is removed. DO NOT use Carbuator Cleaner.

I have oil around my air cleaner housing what can i do ?


I'm assuming you mean inside of your air cleaner you either need to clean air cleaner housing replace air filter and PCV valve and or PCV breather filter hose, PCV system or your engine has excessive blowby and is worn internally.

There's a rubber hose that goes from the oil fill cap to either the air cleaner or to the air intake hose between the air cleaner and the throttle body. It's for the PCV system. There's also a small filter inside the air cleaner on some models, and another hose and PCV valve that goes from the valve cover to the intake manifold. There should be a emissions system sticker under the hood some where that shows all the lines, and lists the specs for spark plugs and ignition timing. You hook the timing light to the #1 spark plug wire, disconnect and plug the vacuum line to the distributor. Set timing to 10 degrees BTDC.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 2003 ford ranger


  • The PCV valve can be located in several places. The most common location is in a rubber grommet in the valve cover. It can be installed in the middle of the hose connections, as well as installed directly in the intake manifold.
  • Once the PCV valve is located, make sure all the PCV system hoses are properly connected and that they have no breaks or cracks.
  • Remove the air cleaner and inspect the air and crankcase filters. Crankcase blowby can clog these with oil. Clean or replace such filters.
  • Oil in the air cleaner assembly indicates that the PCV valve or hoses are plugged.
  • Make sure you check these and replace the valve and clean the hoses and air cleaner assembly.
  • When the PCV valve and hose are in satisfactory condition and there is oil in the air cleaner assembly, perform a cylinder compression test to check for worn cylinders and piston rings.

Remove the intake air hose and air cleaner assembly. (1) Disconnect the AFS connector. (2) Disconnect the breather hose from air cleaner hose. (3) Remove the intake air hose and air cleaner. 5. Remove the upper radiator hose (A) and lower radiator hose (B). 6. Remove the heater hoses 7. Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from the cylinder head and the intake manifold. (1) OCV(Oil Control Valve) connector (A). (2) Oil temperature sensor connector (B). (3) ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor (C) connector. (4) Ignition coil connector (D). (5) TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) connector (A). (6) ISA (Idle Speed Actuator) connector (B). (7) CMP (Camshaft Position Sensor) connector (A). (8) Four fuel injector connectors (B). (9) Knock sensor connector (C).
