If yours is like mine there is no dip stick there is a plug on the transmission you can check it there with your finger not running its shouldn't need any thing with it unless its slipping or shifting hard

Hi, it's done by taking the TRANSMISSION DIP STICK and a small funnel. DO NOT OVERFILL. to TEST start engine handbrake ON, foot on the FOOTBRAKE. on ticking over GO INTO ALL GEARS, AND REVERSE. clean dip stick repace and take READING. if you need more then put enough to UPPER LEVEL. MAKE SURE YOU USE TRANSMISSION OIL. gerry

Add oil, auto transmission oil should be red / pink in colour. If trhe iol on the transmission dipstick is not red / pink but dirty black or grey it needs to be full changed. If changed remember to do the filter as well. Hope this helps

Is it very difficult to change the cam iol seal on a 2.0 toyota rav 4 1999, and is there anything I should know that the book doesn't tell

pulling the timing belt on older RAV4 engines is a more difficult task but not impossible.

Do you have some experience with timing belts and or cars in general?

Puting iol in a 1992 oldsmobile

Most vehicles can take between 4-5 quarts of oil. Never rely just on a number. Put 3.5-4 quarts in the car, let it sit for a couple of minutes, pull out the dipstick, clean it, and re-insert it to check the level. Add oil til the dipstick reads as full.

Once it's full, run the motor for about 5 minutes, kill the motor, and let it sit for about 5 minutes, then clean the dipstick and re-check the oil. It may need a little more oil, as the filter may have taken some of the oil.

Hello, i had an oil change, and a day later my emissions light came on then the car started to chug, sputter or what, like it was not getting gas... I was not having any problems until the oil change...can...

sounds like they have put too much or the wrong oil in the car.. check your manual or call the dealer to find out what oil it takes also check your iol dipstick to see if there is too much or not enough iol in the car. i hope this helps. maby check your air filter too, make sure its clean and the car can breath..

I have 1983 Nissan Datsun 280ZX. It sat for nearly 2 years not driven much. I checked the fluids but can not locate where to add gear oil. A few days after I got the car, I noticed when I shift gears I get...

there is most likely not hte gear iol level since it has sat, however there is probably a lot of rust on the flay wheel and clutch disk. does this noise sound like a hard grinding (BUZZ CHUCK) or a faint sluicing?

could be a piece of that spark plug is embeded in the piston causing it to hit the head on the upstroke.detonation is the cause of the plug failure and must also be addesed. posible lean mix on that cylinder or ignition cross fire.

Low iol pressure light coming on

could be a sensor. Need to put a gauge on there and check the oil pressure, If ok, replace the sensor. If you have low oil pressure at idle, it is likely the oil pump is shot or the pick up screen is clogged with debris. In either case, this is going to require major repairs.
