Question about Kia Spectra

1 Answer

When I park my car my car wil just stop. Also when I placed my car in drive it became jettery when pressing on the acceleration, then eventually it went. Got a diagnostic test and said it was the fuel pump, is that all that was wrong or is it something more? How much is a fuel pump usually and how long can I wait before I get it changed?

You should not drive before getting it replaced it will leave you stranded if you do the fuel pump yourself its around 200 to 300 if a mechanic around 400 to 500 dollars

What would cause my 2005 Chevy Cobalt to have to be placed in reverse, then to drive to get the vehicle to accelerate?

Some problem in the valve body most likely. Do you get any fault codes when you scan the engine/transmission control module?

How do I fix the transmission problem? The car is moving forward at neutral, drive and low gear, and switching to parking mode at reverse and parking. The car is not backing up at all.

Transmission may now be toast since you continued to drive it when maybe low on fluid or torque converter had failed. How long since last fluid and filter change? Ever?

Why wont my 2008 dodge avenger shift from park?

I assume you are pressing firmly on the brake pedal. If so, it is most likely the brake safety switch, not detecting that you are.
Contact your dealer about the override for this, (usually there is a button somewhere), if that fixes it, you need to get it replaced.
All new cars require that you press the brake to be able to shift out of park; this prevents the so-called "sudden acceleration" problem, when you put your foot on the accelerator instead of the brake, shift into drive, and then no matter how hard you press on the accelerator (which you *think* is the brake), the car will not stop, in fact it "races out of control".

But occasionally this switch goes bad and has to be replaced.

Car stalls in park and neutral

check the catalytic converter or exhaust for a restriction. some other things to look at as well would be a restricted air filter, fuel filter, and or old spark plugs. look the car over and inspect each item i described. if you have not had the car serviced in a while, take it to a place to have the work done.

Vehicle hesitates when you accelerate .

make sure you have the correct spark plugs(2)check the throttle position sensor on the car,as most people would be driving about with the throttle on the floor car feels fine.but as in normal driving anyone only uses the first half of the pedal and this is where most wear takes place and sometimes causes hesitation when driving.best of luck.
