2002 Kia Spectra-When headlights on and brake petal pressed, the radio turns off. When the petal is released, radio comes back on. Does not happen if the lights are off. Brake lights do illuminate. Suggestions on where to look?

Yes some cars have a setting that when brake hard radio automatically turns down sounds like your system is faulty need to try and ask dealership if this is a recall and if not you need find a diagram of the wiring and trace your radio wires to find controler box and have it checked

yeah had car since new. Problem just started. Guess it's spark chasing time.

ok i know what is wrong you have a wire of your radio that is touching the floor and when you push the pedal you ground out the radio and when release the pedal it is ungrounded check behind your radio for a wire that is not properly connected or the plastic is off and bare wire

if starter is not engaging or clicks then have battery load tested. if battery checks good then test the voltage draw on the starter,may be dragging when it gets hot.

Kia spectra weak start

Try this .Turn on headlights, try to start. If headlights go out or go very dim, REPLACE BATTERY.Also check connections at the battery and starter.

Check your level of brake fluid and also check your brake line junction box where all 4 brake lines attach...May need it replaced

2002 kia spectra brake light is constantly on, now it starts but just dies right away won't stay on

i would check yor brake light switch make sure its adjusted correctly whitch will be located behind your brake pedal remove it press the button in and out your brake lights should turn on and off if this dont happen i would try a new switch as it sounds to me like the switch is sending a constan 12 v feed to brake lights

Clock and radio doesn't light up when car turned on

I used pliers to pull out the entire plastic shroud around the fuse, then put the fuse into the shroud and then plugged the whole assembly back in.

How to remove factory radio in 2002 kia spectra? do you have to pull the whole dash panel off first, or is there release clips on the sides of the radio?
