If you are having trouble w/ the top. Check to make sure the central locking system is working properly. Also as on my Cabri, try locking the trunk 1st. Hope this helps

Cannot open trunk of 1994 audi cabriolet

There is a key over ride position if your boot becomes locked due to electrical failures you have to turn the key in the boot lock that bit further then push in the barrel.

Picture the slot position something like ten past eight rather than 6 oclock or five past seven

I have found a link that should be able to help you. If you didn't already know, the fuse panel diagram is located on the inside of the fuse panel usually. If you cannot locate it there, you can download it in the link I provided. Be sure to read it correctly and take your time when locating a fuse. it sounds like the cable for the lever is either stretched or broken if it uses a cable. if it's controlled electronically it may be the sensor needs replacing.

I locked my keys in the trunk of my 1998 audi cabriolet. is there a way to open the trunk from the inside of the car without the keys?

I would call the dealership and explain your situation and they might be able to make you a valet key based on the vin# with proof of ownership.
