Uhgood question. Not sure I understand the B+ part of your
response. Ive put the Ohm meter on the plugs for both the pressure
switch and high side plug, switched the hot and ground meter testers
(cant think of what to call them...ugh) and there was no reading
either up or down on the meter reading.

My 1998 Tahoe is having an A/C problem. Have determined through using
an Ohm meter that neither the high side electrical feed or the low
pressure switch is getting any current. I have replaced the A/C Relay
Switch and the 10A fuse. Both of those are hot when tested.

The A/C button on the dash lights up when pushed in, however the
compressor does not start.

Wanting to rule out an electrical problem before I go and drop a ton
of cash to replace the compressor.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks.

Try shorting out the low pressure cutoff switch (on the receiver/
dryer). If the freon is too low, it won't even let the clutch pull in

Clutch won't engage until I tap it ... Auto Air Inc. Guam My friend you do not have any problem. The only matter it's the Hub and your Pulley are too far way, due to wear and tear. 2 way to solve that problems. 1, Get an extension and tap hard to the 3 main mounting on the Hub. 2, Remove the hub and remove the space between the hub and the dfrive sharp. Should you need guide please feel free to email me. I'm on vacation but I still love to solve problems. nguyen@ite.net

Take off the shut off switch and connect the connections in the plug with a simple looped wire. This completes the circuit without the shut off switch. Now the compressor should kick on and take in 134a.

I'm wondering how to do this? Shorting it out and the simple loop....Can someone explain in more detail???

Have same problem.Investigating now.No solution Yet.However,
to test compressor clutch-unplug front electrical plug of compressor and make a hot and ground lead from 12 volt source.Car running-touch compressor pins MOMENTARILY.
Either the clutch engages,or its broke.

Sorry about the B+ thing (the engineer in me) it means the supply
voltage for the circuit in question. Have you gone to a libray yet to
get a manual with a wiring diagram to chase down the problem? I would
start at compressor and work back until you find it (the B+) so you
can see where you are loosing it.
