Do not play with it because if you deviate from the factory settings then it will not pass the inspection,When a manufacturer builds a vehicle its set for optimum performance over a broad spectrum of use so what you gain on the swings you loose elsewhere .After 40 yrs fixing cars and iam old enough to remember the harry moss goodies and gunsuns bits as well and trust me anything they say i look and then ask questions and when at trade shows many years ago i ran rings around these so called salesman with their fancy products that were all a gimmick ,keep you money and if you want a faster car then buy a jag or a porsche

Skoda Fabia 2004 1.4 tdi 75 bhp. Very sluggish to turn over, had new battery and alternator but still same. Alternator only puts outs 12.3 volts on tickover but no charging liight is on?

Does the battery light work? Do you trust this meter? If this is like most newer cars then the Alternators output voltage is computer controlled, you need the dealer to diagnose the issue and replace the computer is needed, it is a very expensive part so don't just throw one in there.

Just changed the battery on my skoda fabia vrs

The easiest way to reset the computer coding system is to unhook your battery and let it sit for 3-5 minutes. If the code comes back on after starting your car then whatever is causing the code is still happening.

Beware that you will most likely need to know the code to unlock your radio if it has the theft protection built in where if power is unhooked from the radio the radio is locked until you follow the procedure outlined in your owners manual with a code to get it back working. If you don't have the code, your Volkswagen dealer can help you out as well.
