Check all of the connections between the alternator to the battery cables. If they are all good then you need to replace the battery. It may just be old and not keeping a charge.

Had to get new battery on 2007 ford force and the battery light still come on

How's the alternator? The battery light will come on if the alternator isn't charging properly or
at all. If you don't have a alternator gauge, a local auto parts store will usually check your alternator free of "charge"

My battery won't stay charged on my 2009 camry

The alternator is the charging source for the battery. Alternator can be checked with vehicle running at your local auto parts store, and if not running, take alternator off and carry to the store for checking it out. First check all connections for corrosion, and if the battery has removeable caps, insure that chambers are full using distilled water.

Battery warning low charge on 3 series BMW - light showing battery and statement in nav screen - just came on out of the blue? The car is 4 years old is it the battery or the alternator?

disconnect the battery with the car running if it dies then its the alternator. You can also dive it to an auto parts store and they will check the charging system for you, it a free service Tim

I brought a brand new battery and dorve the car for one day. The nexy day I cranked up my car and the battery was dead.

Have your alternator checked and at the same time have the battery checked at your local Auto Zone or O'Reilly auto parts store. Or auto parts store similar to one of those. Sometimes when your battery goes dead it tends to wreak havoc on the alternator which can cause the battery to not hold its charge.

1997 ford taurus GL battery light stays on or sometimes dim alt. checks o.k. what is the problem.

When you say it check ok, can you please explain what you mean in more detail, because if your Alternator light comes on or is dim, your alternator is likely not producing enough amps to fully charge the battery. The battery may test good, but the alternator has to work too hard to keep it charged. Have a check run on the amperage output on your alternator to see if it produces the factory recommended amperage. You can get a tester or probably borrow one from Auto Zone auto parts if there is one near you. If not, you can buy an amp tested from your local auto parts store or you can take it to your local shop and they might test it for free.

Main battery does not charge

Hi Sheila,

This sounds like an alternator or a battery issue. The first thing I would do is take the truck to your local auto-parts store who can test the amperage output of the alternator and stored charge of the battery.

Both Advanced Auto and AutoZone provide this service for free, other parts stores may do the same.

From there, you should have a more definitive diagnosis of the problems that you are encountering with the charge.
