Question about 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt
Quick way to check for fuel pump problem, If it has the 2.2L ecotec you will have to remove the black engine cover first. Simply remove your oil cap and pull easily on it until it lifts up away from the engine. with the cover off. You will see a round but long piece of metal which is your fuel rail. you will see the fuel injectors connected to the bottom of it. the is a cap on it that looks very similar to a valve stem cap for a tire. it will be on the right hand side of the fuel rail. Simply, take this cap off and push down on the inner needle of it as you turn your car over. if gas comes out strong you have a problem other than fuel pump but if it trinkles out you may want to replace your fuel pump. I would always recommend replacing the fuel filter before the pump. hope this helps
