1998 GMC Sierra 5.0L won t shift out park when pressing brake.

Could be the brake switch or the shift lock solenoid. You may be able to turn the key switch to the unlock position and shift out of park before you turn the key switch on.

2008 GMC Sierra pickup. Driving and all of a sudden it shut off then turned back on; the doors unlocked then locked again. Now it won't do anything. Checked the oil and it was empty - no oil at

Running with no oil is death for the motor ( Seized). When the alternator stopped working because the engine stopped the door lock control opened the door locks as it said you were below the required speed to have them locked

Part on my key snapped off in the ignition. What is the best way to get it out? Or do I need to replace the whole ignition?

It's not all bad.
remove cowling and re-insert partial key.
Turn to the ACC/ intermediate key position .

The IGN barrell will be held in place by a location "***" on the IGN barrell in the lock assy.
Press this "***" while the key is in assy position and the Key/barrell should be able to be removed. The IGN barrell needs to be in the on/acc position in order to be removed for obvious reasons. Good Luck

After replacing battirs anti theft system wanted let car start it just turn over

Most likely ign lock assy has broken wires in the steering column. It wont read resist on key. The wires are very small and tend to break from the ign lock being turn off and on.

Remove the horn ,then the nut holding the steering wheel on,then using a steering wheel puller, remove the steering wheel, then remove the lock plate, using a lock plate remover, then remove the turn signal switch, and there is a screw pin, that holds the ignition key cylinder in,remove it,and pull the key cylinder out.
