    Thanks for your response!!

The whole system takes about 11 oz. or 325 ml. If you are just changing
the compressor add 4-6 oz to that. Turn the shaft to **** the oil in. I
would also change the accumulator, add ~2oz in there. If you flush the
evap and/or condenser, also add ~2oz to each. The idea is to evenly
distribute the oil throughout the system - don't try to add all the oil
for a dry system into one place or the compressor will fail. Check with
the compressor manufacturer which viscosity of PAG to use - 46, 100 or
    150.

    While both lubricants are
used with R-134a, Ester is believed to be better for
Retrofit systems because they are much less hygroscopic,
which means that they don't absorb as much water from the
atmosphere as PAG Oils do. This moisture can create
problems in a vehicle's A/C system. Ester is also a truly
Universal lubricant which has a Single Viscosity. PAG Oils come in
a variety of viscosities which must be matched to the vehicle.
GM vehicles use a high viscosity (150) PAG Oil, and non-GM
vehicles use a low viscosity (46) PAG Oil. You cannot use a
100 viscosity PAG Oil as a "1 size fits all" universal
lubricant. Ester Oil, however, is truly universal and will
    lubricate properly regardless of viscosity.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

It should say on the compressor either R134A or R14. But the real question is why did it leak out you may need to have it teased for leaks.

How much pag oil goes into a new ac compressor.

For the R134 A/C system on this van the amount of PAG oil is 7.4 oz. Adding too much oil will reduce the cooling ability of the system.

How much oil is required for a new AC compressor 91 ford ranger, 3.0, the system is completely empty, (replacing compressor, no oil in it)

System 7 to 9 oz

Condenser 1 oz
Dryer or Accumulator 1 0z
Evaporator 3 oz
Compressor 3 to 4 oz

On most vehicles

You have a big problem---no R12 has been avail for the
last 15 years

SO-- you need to flush every component of mineral oil
& replace with ester or pag, then switch to R134A refrigerant

That may require a compressor built for those pressures &
"o" rings such as the green ones

Need to research what your doing

Please change the oil now at the Nissan garage and watch the vehicle closely.

$100 is not so much like getting your car totally knocked.

Good luck and rate this solution/ suggestion.

Total Amount of AC PAG oil needed for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport

Do you have the old compessor? Drain out what is in there and use that amount as a guide + 1 oz. There is no ratio per se. As long as you are close without being crazy low (none) or crazy high (over flowing), you're good.
