1990 Toyota Camry DX Electrical Problem

I just fixed this same problem in my 1990 Camry in August. It is the wire
bundle in the driver door. As you open and clos the door, the wires flex in
the hinge area. You have one broken wire. The rest are ready to break.
The insulation has dried out, and where it cracks, there is excessive
bending at the crack when the door pivots. You need to splice and solder
the broken one and then wrap the other cracked wires with electrical tape,
one at a time and also wrap around the bundle. This probably requires
removing the door (I had to), but maybe if your fingers are tiny enough you
can just get away with removing the door panel and the driver's foot panel.
Good luck realigning the door if you take it off. :-(

no power to spark plugs wire, power to coil is good

I've a 1995 Camry, I've had the same problem with the power window console on the drivers side. The windows would not open---the drivers side wndow would not open at all; the other windows would open/close only from their side. Went to an electrical shop--said I needed a new motor, that was 1 year ago. I'm now having the same problem, the driver side window will not open. Any suggestions as to the problem and possbile solution? I'm female and I felt I was ripped off initially, really cannot afford another couple of hundred dollars to fix this.

Dealer usually fixes for free-i believe its an old recall problem.
try calling dealer;George

Any other info on this recall, or where I could confirm it? I've got a
problem with a speaker wire in the driver-side door.

A Friend has the same problem on his 88 Camry. With his car the problem
turned out to be the wire harness between the driver side door and the
fender when door is open.
He was able to move this harness and some of his power controls would work.

Dear Everyone Who Answered Our Question:

We would like to thank everyone who responded to our question about how to
solve our electrical problem. Everyone who told us that our wires were broken
or almost broken, how to fix them, and where we would find them was correct.
We had about 4 broken wires. The rest were ready to break any day. We
had to pull all the wires out of the door. We fixed and reinforced all the
wires
and put them back in place. Now everything works fine. Thanks again
everyone for monitoring this newsgroup and helping us. It is nice when
people are helpful.
