First understand the normal operating temperature is 225-230 degrees fahrenheit. Next if it was overheating you would have a check engine light on, is there?

I replaced the temp coolant sensor thermostat and radiator and the tep still goes up to 212 to 225 is this normal

It depends on the ambient air temperature and whether or not the AC is being used. Once the thermostat opens the engine coolant temperature can run from 210-230 degrees. So your good.

I have a 2002 ford ranger that runs normal while engine is running but gets hot when i shut off engine

SOUND LIKE ENGINE OVERHEATING.USE A INFRA THERMOMETER ENGINE TEMPERATURE SHOULD NOT EXCEED 104 CELSIUS WHICH IS 220 DEGREES IF ENGINE EMPERATURE GOING OVER 230. THERMOSTAT STICKING PARTIALLY CLOSED,WATER PUMP FAILING CHECK WEEP HOLE IF LEAKING REPLACE WATER PUMP.FLUSH RADIATOR ,HEATER CORE, AND ENGINE BLOCK. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 50 / 50 ANTI FREEZE AND WATER.MAKE SURE ENGINE EXHAUST NOT STOPPED UP BECAUSE EXHAUST SYSTEM ALSO TAKE HEAT AWAY FROM ENGINE.

Whats the normal operating temp on a 2000 Suburban 5.3 Vortex Eng? It's 90 above degrees temp wise in the city. Temp gauge in the truck shows between 200-210.

That temp is normal especially considering the ambient temp. A 50/50 antifreeze/water mix not only prevents freezing but raises the boil temp. The pressure in the system also does that. So, in reality, your boil temp is above 230 degrees.

Why would a 1994 Oldsmobile Achieva S quad 4 engine temperature gauge fluctuate between 195 & 220 degrees? The thermostat has been changed and the engine and radiator have been flushed. The normal...

either the thermostat is getting ready to fail or the temp sensor isnt working properlythese engines also leak fluid from rear side of head after getting hot so check that so may have air in system because of the blown head gasket

What is considered a normal temperature for engine for 1995 El Dorado Cadillac. It sometimes will run from 189 to 220. but it's not running hot. Is this normal for this car.

yes it is as long as it does not over heat. the thermostat is set to open at 195 or a bit above. Normal running range is 180 to 220 degrees operating temperature on your car

Engine temp goes up to 230 degrees

It's actually normal for engine temps to go up to 220 deg. F or 230 deg. F in the summer time, even in normal engines that run at 196 deg. F typically.

This happened to me with no malfunctions on my 1997 Cadillac Deville, yesterday.

Actually, engines run more efficiently at higher temperatures like this.

Just make sure your coolant is topped off and that it fluctuates between lower temperatures and this high reading.

This is a normal temperature in my experience for GM vehicles.

Whats the temperturee the fan should kick on in my 95 oldsmobile cutlass supreme? the temperature is running up to 230/

Hi! yes, 230 degrees is way too hot! If my memory is right, probably about 190 degrees. I'd check with a GM dealer to make sure. It's most likely a bad fan switch. Good luck.
