That sensor is located on the transmission near the RH axel. 10mm bolt secures it. It's a 'Hall" sensor. When replacing, remember to reinstall the horse-shoe clip which retains the gear to it.

After fixing you sometimes need to delete the fault codes that er registrered on your ECU "electronic control unit, or car computer". You do that by using the ODB device and on that device select to delete fault codes.

Locate the starter

The starter motor will engage the gear in the transmission bell housing to rotate the engine, so it will be mounted on the side of the transmission. The illustration shows the XG-300 and XG-350.

Sudden aceleration

I also own a 2004 XG 350 and am a Plaltinum Certified Technician. My best guess would be the APS (Accelerator Position Sensor) malfunction. However, if the malfunction lasted long enough, the "Check Engine" light would illuminate and set an APS code. Best advice -- have it properly diagnosed by a Certified Hyundai Technician (there just might be other/pending issues).

I replaced my timing belt at 60k, my car now has

I assume that you replaced the belt at 60,000 because that was the recommendation in the owner's manual. It needs to be done every 60,000 to keep the engine running fine so you should be giving serious thought to getting it done soon. Hope this helps.
