You may just need to replace the pigtail plug for this. Also check the pigtails at the blower motor and blower motor resistor. These are located on the passenger under the glovebox. The harness you are looking for and knob are dealer only parts unless you can locate them in a salvage yard. It is possible that the knob is only available as part of the control head.Definitely test the blower motor to make sure that it was not the cause of this occurringHeat and Air Blower Stopped - c0f8765.gif

Blower motor not working 2005 GMC sierra resister ground pin burnt

small_car4.png Wiring problem of the 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 6 Failure Date: 07/18/2009

The connector that plugs into the blower motor under the glove box became too hot and melted the plastic resulting in the a/c and heat not to work (this includes the windshield defroster). I've been looking up problems and solutions and found that this is a recurring problem with GMC and chevy trucks yet there has not been any recall, in fact the dealerships have an extremely overpriced kit to fix their faulty wiring. About 66,000 mi.

Circuit unit behind the ac controls

sounds like your blower motor has stopped working check for power going to the blower system if you have power the blower is probably bad the concern is the lack of a fuse blowing or a breaker not cycling you may have a harness problem sometimes a low grade short will heat up wires then melt them together causing a multisystem failure even though a fuse or breaker didn't blow check you harness

My 2004 silverado will be blowing nice cold air from the air conditioning and suddenly thedrivers side will switch to hot. Shutting off the engine wil "reset" it, but only for a while .

there is a common problem with these trucks, but cannot guarantee without actually checking the wiring.

there is a part of your climate control system called a blower motor resistor. this is what controls your fan speed. it is located under the dash on the passenger side, long flat connector, inserts into the ductwork behind the blower motor. this part corrodes as a result of condensation forming in the system, causing resistance and high heat issues. under certain conditions, the heat from this can actually begin to melt the wiring harness going to the resistor, causing power to back feed where it doesnt belong, resulting in unpredictable heating and air conditioning operation, such as yours. it can also sometimes give you an intermittent burning / melting plastic smell.

the harness and resistor may need to be replaced. the harness is available from your local dealer. in my area they retail for around the $170 area, but the price my vary. the resistor is available at any local parts store. the repair connector harness comes with the necessary connectors, all you need to do this job yourself is some wire strippers and a lighter for the shrink tube connectors, along with a socket to remove the resistor - usually a 7/32". again, this is something that is a common failure, which SOMETIMES exibits your symptoms. a visual inspection of the harness will be telling, and give the components a sniff and smell for any burnt odor indicated. good luck!

Hummer H3 air condition blower will not come on - can feel cold air - but the fan will not come on - even when putting on the different fan speeds - could it be the fuses?

I just fixed this exact problem in my 06 H3. It turned out to be the resistor pack in the blower motor. I had to replace the resistor(it shorted) and the small harness that spiders over the blower motor assembly(it melted). It was an easy fix and only about $50 in parts that you can order form any GM brand dealership. Check out the link and and look at parts #3 and #4. Good luck!

AC/Heat stopped blowing air. How much to fix?

Check the fuse panel, for a blown fuse. If that's not it, find the wire that powers the blower motor, it is usually visible in the engine compartment firewall area. Test to see if power is getting to the motor, if it is replace the blower motor. Usually not a hard job.

The blower s not working on a 2002 Jeep Grand C

I had the same problem. Mine was the wire harness that connects to the blow bow. My wires were getting to hot and melting the harness. Try to wiggle the wires that connect to the blow bax while the heat is on high.

I HAVE AN 06 H3 HUMMER the heater was blowing fine when I shut the car off ok, when I got back in and started it the heaters blower stopped. I have checked all fuses and relays and they are fine I even...

check the blower speed control, it most likely burned out, also jump battery power direct to the blower and see if it runs, if it does the speed control is defective, if it doesn't the blower motor is toast.
