It's a 1997 GLX petrol fuel injected model. Could this be the fuel pump relay? Thanks for your replay!

no i wouldnt have thought so ,what i would need to do is to have a drive myself then i would know for sure ,but if its just cutting out when AC is turned on then i would suspect the idle control valve but if its stopping completely and will not restart then i would suspect the front fuse box ,by the battery is a fuse box with alloy fuses about 4 i think and a lot of wires coming in well these connections can get burnt corrosion after a time and the fuses corrode where the little nuts hold them on ,strip and clean all the connections and put some vasoline on them as you do it ,i think it will cure it but iam not making any promises because as stated these sort of faults have to do it in front of me to find them and like the dentist they always work when i drive the car ,its as if the car has a brain and it knows i have a nice collection of hammers when it plays up

How can you bypass an antitheft system on a 2002 tdi jetta?

If it is not a new key fob, it sounds to me like the immobilizer is activated. So, all the lights on the dash are working now? Is there a flashing key on the dash lights? One of the resets that works is put the key fob in, and turn ignition on without starting it, and leave it 15 minutes. And try again.

When driving suddenly the engine cuts out.

I heave the same problem on my Corsa B 1.0 2000, engine cuts out, and whe it happens, I hear one of the relay under the right side of the dash buzzing. After a couple of minutes, starts like nothing happend.
So far I manage to find that the speed sensor is faulty, when I tap him the car stops. I order a brand new one, but I'm not sure that was the issue.
I order also a Opel Tech2 tester from ebay and it has to arrive next week, then I can see the error code.

Had to disconnect my battery, when reconected, my flashers come on while driving?

This is a guess by the way, but I would think you have an old alarm system on the vehicle which has probably had the immobiliser part of it removed. When you disconnected the battery the alarm senses the voltage drop and then cuts in. If when you are driving the lights flash and then go normal for a while, then start flashing again for approx 30 seconds, I would start looking for an old alarm unit under the bonnet.
Only a theory, hope it is of help, Andy,

1997 Jetta-doesn't start in warm weather

it could be the coil pack or even your immobiliser. try disconnecting your immobiliser. they seem to have bad-parts/dry-joints in them after a few years.
