Question about 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse
One simple thing to check, if you can find the Exhaust Gas Recycling (EGR) valve, With the engine cold see if you can move it . Be careful not to damage the diaphragm. If the EGR valve sticks you can easily lose 20% of your fuel economy. Depending on location it may easily come off for cleaning. Scrape out the soot and wash with carburetor cleaner . Do not lose the gaskets, they are metal and should easily go back in.
