Transmission fluid is added to the tranny thru the dipstick tube, you will need a small funnel. Do not overfill.

I had a strut mount put in a 91 toyota corolla today, now the brakes are not working, i have pumped them, give it time, nothing is working, believe they forgot to bleed them or can i just add fluid and...

Check and see if any brake fluid is leaking on the ground when you push the brakes(usually most obvious on the inside of the tires where the fluid drains down). If you see fluid then there is an open in the hydraulic system which means the problem needs to be fixed and brakes bleed again. you cant just add fluid because you need to get the air out of the lines so my suggestion is to call the shop and tell them to fix it.

My 2003 toyota corolla is out of transmission fluid and I need to know where to put new fluid it it

If your transmission ran out of fluid, you have a leak and need to have it looked at asap. It is not supposed to run out of transmission fluid. Major transmission damage will occur if you run the vehicle without fluid.

Transaxle... How to check and change fluids on 91 Toyota Corolla

Toyota uses Dex III ATF. You can buy from Wal-Mart:

1) Cheaper: Super Tech DEX III ATF $10/gal
2) Better: Valvoline MaxLife DEX/MER ATF $18/gal

Both are compatible, depending on how much you care about your car and how deep your pockets are :)

To check ATF fluid, look for an orange/red color dipstick (similar to the yellow dipstick for engine oil). You need to have the car in running temperature, shift through from Park, N, D, ... then back to D, N, Park (stopping for a few seconds in each gear). Then go to measure your fluid level.

If you haven't check it ever, it might be pale brown, which may look clean to you, but very deceivingly... becaue it should look red-ish / pinkish. When chemicals broken down in ATF, the red-ish color disappears. It may even be brown and smell burnt, that just mean your transmission is not in a very good shape.

If you do change the ATF, it's good to put a bottle of Lucus Oil brand "STOP SLIP / TRANSMISSION FIX" in it during your fluid change. It is a 24oz. bottle cost about $12 @ Wal-Mart or any auto stores. It will extend your transmission's life regardless. I highly recommend that.

Fluid level on manuel transmission low on fluids

For manual trans, just pump in the fluid until it starts coming back out the hole you are pumping it into and then put bolt back in and thats it.

Low Automatic Transmission Fluid in 2009 Toyota Corolla

It should be fine, as long as you topped it up again. If there's no sign of transmission fluid in your driveway it's not leaking. Keep on trucking!

91 Corolla - Transmission fluid drip...inside!

The gear that is on the side of the transmission has a small seal, where the speedo cable goes into the speedometer take-off unit. When the seal goes bad, the cable drags trans fluid up the inner core. I have changed this device several times for the same symptom. Replace the speedo unit on the side of the transmission.
