The drivers side window of my 2000 325Ci has started to creak & crack when it goes up & down. Any ideas?...the car is only 12 months old. Could something be caught up inside the panel etc?

-   2000 328i 4 door sedan. These window regs go out every so often. In the past I have always taken it to the dealer to repair, but am tired of paying $500+ to have them do it so this time I am going to attempt to replace it myself. I'm sure the parts are much less than the labor. Could use some guidance if anyone has experience. Thanks. Rick

I have had the same problem and have been advised it's the window runner clips that one day make your window stick then, drop. I have replaced these clips which were 99p each and ever since had no problem
I have replaced the window regulators on the 325 sport wagon twice-different windows. It is pretty easy. THe trick is to successfully get the door panel off. After popping of the covers for the screws--star bolts--and I think there are clips at the bottom, you pull towards you at the bottom and relaese the push pins, then move it up and relaese at the top edge of the window opening. THe regulators cost about $125 and they are not well buil;t thus the problems. Write back if ther4e are questions. C
I own 94 325i and and 03 325i and have had the problem on each car. The creaking and groaning sound is most likely cause by a faulty window regulator. Part cost about $120. I replaced the 94 myself-it was not too difficult but took me about 3 hours. I payed a non bmw mechanic to do the 03 and it cost $225. If I had known the price before doing it myself, I would have payed a mechanic and saved my time.
very common problem with 3 series. It is a broken plastic slider. You will need to replace the regulator entirely, not just the slider as it isn't sold seperately. Your motor is likely fine. Look in forums and fine instructions to do yourself. Don't pay the stealership to do it. You can do it with basic tools and torx bits.

I noticed on my 2001 325i that the window slowed down to the point that I thought the motor needed to be replaced. Before I tried that, I squirted spray wax in the window slide tracks to more or less lubricate them. It worked, I think the window tint just caused too much drag.
Ignore it as long as the window keeps going up and down. I've had mine fixed under warranty and now it's back. This is apparently a common problem with 3 series. It's expensive to fix as they have to take the door panel off. Pain in the you-know-what.

Solution # 1.
There are plastic runners on which the window is seated, these could either be worn or have started to crack/break. these need to be changed and are fairly cheap from any BMW garage.

I have a 2001 325i and I have had the same symptoms on 5 occasions! It advanced to the window not working. Each time I had to have it repaired and was told it was the power window regulator.
Make sure that your window in properly aligned and that your motor is not giving in also

I have a 2001 325 Cic and the passenger side window is starting to creak as well. I haven't cleaned it yet to see if it "invisibile" dirt on the window. But I'm very interested in anyone with the same problem...

I'm not suremy car is an import from France, so I think it's only 12 months and it's just expired if that's the case. Better get on the blower to Bracknell.

I have a bmw 325i conv. Sometimes the doors lock (including the trunk) and the keys will not open them. After a lot of fiddelling around I've been able to open 1 door or the other but the other door will not open even if the door latch is up. What's the problem & fix.
