Question about 1993 Pontiac Firebird
Hi there, to start with did you have problems starting before the starter has been replaced, things like, dragging, not turning over normally and have you done a compression test on it,(just to prove the rings is Ok) sounds more like bearings as the motor would not turn over and as of the result the starter will labour and fail as it have to work very hard to turn the motor over. take out all the plugs and try to turn the motor over with a spanner on the crankshaft nut. only turn clockwise as you could undo the nut and that will need re-torque if that happens, feel if the motor turns over easy, if not you might have some serious bearing problems, try this first and let me know.
